Looks absolutely stunning!!
Below is our Pajero and camper when arriving in Alice Springs after driving on a very wet Mereenie Loop.
$50ea at the car wash plus another 8 hours later the car and camper were back to normal again!!
Rainbow Valley claypan was dry again yesterday. We washed off a similar amount of mud at the Alice Springs car wash yesterday too. Ours was from the Oodnadatta Track. We have just spent a relaxing 5 days stuck at William Creek.

No - but it looked the same as the camper after it too had a clean! The car was only 4 months old then - there was no way it was going to stay that dirty for any longer than it had to. I even dropped Catie and the boys off at the CP entrance when we arrived so they could check in while I drove straight to the car wash!
Ive done the same when I got back to Cairns after a wet muddy CREB track. Almost blocked drain at car wash lol

half a chance I will be up that way in mid June (around Surveyor Generals Corner). Does this mean it is likely to be GREEN rather than red?
cheers,
Steve
Hi Steve,
We live 30 minutes from the SGC and unless the rain kicks on, it will be starting to dry out by then.
It is beautiful out here any time of year though :)
Cheers
John

Hi John,
I am looking to do a trip to SGC in about 18 months time. Might have to give you a hoy when it comes time to plan if that is OK.
Not necessarily the red centre but Strzelecki Track in 2010

glad I went with the MTs on the Patrol now
Is there any other carwash in Australia that cops the hammering that the alice springs car wash does?
Last week was the first big rain we had experienced since dec 2012, so they have had a bit of a break. Some people keep off the roads when they are wet too......so don't keep the carwash owners in business like others.

Awesome.....
very much hoping the roads will have well and truly dried out and that the landscape will look stunning. Will not be looking forward to sliding around in mud for 4 weeks.
