Hi All, any advice on some basic 4wd day trips around the Albury region?
Cheers
Chris
Can recommend you grab a copy of this map from a local newsagent or on line.
The Beechworth and Stanley forest areas have some easy to medium tracks with lots of history.

Depending on how much time you have, another sedate option is to cruise in and out the Murray River access tracks between Howlong and Bundalong. No real 4wd'ing as such, but some great camp spots on the river or even just for a picnic lunch and a swim.
The Stanley/Beechworth forest would be my pic tho.
Woomargama national park, east of Holbrook, lunch at the old tin mine, easy day trip. Been there twice lately. ( in a Pathfinder )
Beechworth and surrounds have already been mentioned, plenty of Kelly history to see. morning or afternoon tea on the upstairs balcony of the beechworth bakery is a must do.
Corryong for a day trip, with perhaps a run up to Tom groggin would also be worthwhile. The upper Murray is a wonderful place.
Plenty to see and do up this way mate. what day are you looking at coming up?
there are a few swaggers up this way.
Corryong and the like is a great day trip, otherwise Yakandandah is a great way to spend the day.

Happy to tee up a day trip down yakandandah way on one of my days off while your up mate?
Its a good spot there for a bit of technical driving. From mild to kinda wild depending on what you want to put your tug through.

Hi Evo
A very kind offer. What days suit your calendar?
We are beginners at the 4wd thing. Will be the pathy and one prado ( maybe two) and a swag of kids.
Chris
Probably a Tuesday or Wednesday. Just hope it isn't too hot, as there is a fair bit of undergrowth and not somewhere I choose to be on hire fire risk days. But if we keep an eye on the radar it should be good.
Not a worry about the cars, plenty of fun for those, and they are quite capable off the beaten track too. :-)
Cheers
