Thought i'd vote early so I could take advantage of the good weather and head out bush rather than line up.
However I Just realised I have voted for the Liberal democrats rather than the Liberal party as the first box on the big white sheet is Liberal Democrats and not what I thought. Must say I know as much about politics as I do about Cricket but apparently many many other voters have already made the same mistake in NSW. So careful which box you tick.

I didn't vote Liberal, so doesn't matter I suppose.....
But seeing as we don't talk politics here, all a bit irrelevant !!!!!

How do you know this - I was under the impression that voting in Aus was supposed to be by secret ballot!
Who's voting for the pirate party?

I had a chat with the blokes handing out leaflets at the pre voting booth that I walk past on the way to the station, they told me many had approached them after realising the same mistake but nothing they can do. Also a couple of blokes at work did the same.
Don't forget the motoring enthusiast party! ;D
Could be worse, could've voted greens instead of Stop the greens

You do know if you stuff your vote up and realize before submitting it you can just ask for another ballot paper.

Unfortunately I had already left the polling station and it wasn't until a bloke at work mentioned that the Liberal party had complained to the AEC about the layout of the ballot paper, that it clicked.
