It's been on the to-do list for a few years so we thought we'd knock it off before kids come along.... I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

I'm hooked.
it might actually gee me up to get my bike back together and hit some roads/tracks.
Itsnot quite the same as watching late night telly.
Not burning the same amount of calories as actually doing the pedalling!!
enjoy!

Yeah, in about 3 weeks it should do. From the moment, there's a slight pang of guilt about putting it off while the weather is cold....

You could always set up a set of rollers or a stationary trainer with you bike in from of the tv and ride the stages with them. ;D
For hydration just have you fluids beside you on a table.

Wonderful. So what you're saying is that there's going to be nothing interesting on TV for the next however many months that this takes.
Didn't we just have a Tour last year? Do we have to do it again so soon? I guess I've missed seeing Cadell on the news, bleating about how his team has let him down, and someone else let him down, and...
I guess I should be thankful. At least it's not the olympics...
Ducking and hiding now...
Matto :)
(Bah humbug!)
I'm not so keen on the bike riding itself, but the country side is fabulous!!

X2 for the scenery. The vision from the helicopters is grouse. Bit like a travel show... but without that annoying Catriona Rowntree.

Sorry, I think I jinxed him... I had a reason to take an interest in the rider, since he was a "I know someone who is related to Simon Gerrans", and then this happens: http://www.theage.com.au/sport/cycling/gerrans-hurt-in-tour-de-france-crash-20120704-21g1y.html (http://www.theage.com.au/sport/cycling/gerrans-hurt-in-tour-de-france-crash-20120704-21g1y.html)
It's like when I watch the Hawks play, they always lose. >:(
LJ
Ouch! I know what that feels like ... but coming off a horse at 20kph is a smidge different ... there is no chance of missing said fence from above ... and it wasn't just my arm. :'(
He should consider himself lucky he could continue (I'm sure he does). The footage I saw showed the other side of the road. One guy just couldn't stand up after that crash.
I'll be watching again tonight though. Go Aussies.

Iii love it and watch religiously. Even got last years on DVD as a gift. Love the tactics, the mountain climbs and the sprints. Also love the scenery. Just amazing that buildings from centuries ago are still there. I love Phil's commentary too. I would so love to go one year, it's on my list of things to do along with Wimbledon. Go the new Aussie team Orica, go Cadel and go Michael Rogers (used to work with his mum).
Cheers
Louise ;D

Too funny - thanks for that one!
Have to confess I was on the wind trainer in front of telly tonight, a true TDF and cycling tragic....
GO CADEL!!!!
