G'day all
We are on the search for a new fridge, and came across these guys: http://www.portablefridgesonline.com.au/ (http://www.portablefridgesonline.com.au/)
Just wondering if anyone has bought a fridge or anything else from them. The prices are pretty damn good!!!
Any thoughts good, bad or otherwise?
Cheers
Matt

Cheers for that qlddsl. Was thinking of a 50l Waeco, but seeing the prices on there will probably go the 60. How long did they take to deliver?
My business partner just brought a new evakool ib50 50 ltr same compressor as a Waeco looks much the same has a 5 year warranty on everything and with the cover bag was 799.
Hutch- 2012 Prado 150, some TJM Kit.

It took about 4 days to get here, even though it states 2 days delivery but for $12 I'm not complaining
Looks like they have some great prices and will beat any price, although I noted this with their $12 shipping.
Is my order insured during freight?
No - as standard, deliveries are not insured. However, we do offer transit insurance for $35 per order.
I have a 60lt Waeco. Must have brought a lemon! So far in 6 months Ive been through 2 danfos controllers. When I got the WACO i fitted the WAECO fridge plug directly to the battery and fused. But for some reason it has been very temperamental. Hopefully 3rd time lucky. Its a great fridge when it works!
You might be better off with the Waeco seconds shop:
60L (with Travel Bag) - $885 : http://getawaeco.com.au/default.asp?id=419&catId=6 (http://getawaeco.com.au/default.asp?id=419&catId=6)
50L (with Travel Bag) - $835 : http://getawaeco.com.au/default.asp?id=418&catId=6 (http://getawaeco.com.au/default.asp?id=418&catId=6)
40L (with Travel Bag) - $805 : http://getawaeco.com.au/default.asp?id=417&catId=6 (http://getawaeco.com.au/default.asp?id=417&catId=6)
Pair that with a $30 fridge stand from BCF, and you're the same combo as the other shop.
Good luck!
Matto :)

Saw that as well D4D. Cheap for the peace of mind. With the shipping insurance and postage it's a huge bargain IMO- saving almost $400!!

Thanks Matto. I did look at these and was very tempted, but as gibbo mentioned, only 12 months warranty on what could have (possibly) been an already faulty product.
Cheers
Matt
if your looking at an Evakool look at the Evakool Store

Good points, and will need to factor into your decision.
If it's any help, the father-in-law bought a 3-way fridge from that site years ago, it was a repaired unit. Arrived with a scuff on the casing, but otherwise was in perfect nick. Has been running fine for the past 3 years, and now has more scuffs. But at $150, it was an easier punt to take than $800+... ;D
I'd also second the Evakool store. I've got an Icekool esky, and it's fantastic. My brother has an evakool fridge, and he loves it.
Good luck!
Matto :)
Chief Carlos and Matto, hadn't really considered evakool as I thought they only had the Fridgemate model, and they were too long to fit into where we want to put it in the trailer. Now i see they have a Travelmate, which looks almost identical to a Waeco. A new contender enters the ring perhaps?
