Thinking of selling the GU Patrol. To big for the wife to feel comfortable driving it around as a daily drive. We also want just one car that will do it all. Looking for peoples ideas for something which is not so big but will do the touring/towing a caravan and sometimes 4wd with 2 Adults and 2 kids.
Thanks
Petrol/Diesel?
Auto/Manual?

Test drive both, then go from there.
Dont pass go.
I forgot to mention I would like a diesel, auto and which is no older than 2 years old.

a prado is smaller than a patrol....
and a paj drives like its 90% smaller... or the one I test drove few weeks ago was.
Not worried, Dual cabs or wagons both have there plus. What weight is getting to heavy for a dual cab to tow
I wouldn't tow anything with a dualcab judging by the number of banana chassis getting around
I have a Mitsubishi Challenger on order. It's smaller than the Prado/Pajero but with 3.5t towing capacity still quite capable. 2.5l Diesel.
Cheers

A jeep, I'm looking at the 4 door wranglers and my old man has a grand Cherokee, the grand Cherokee is smaller and drives excellently with or without the camper trailer on the back, and very capable offroad nothing serious though but still excellent,

Thanks for the comments. So these modern dual cabs can't handle towing on rough surfaces
The new ford ranger doesnt look bad. The territory isn't a bad car in the new diesel, however it isn't a real 4x4's boot lace.
As stated your choice comes down to Prado or Pajero. The Challenger also looks like great value.

A lot of the dual cab bent chassis seem to be related to the use of air-bags. The new Ranger is supposed to have a much stronger chassis than the model it replaced.
