G'day fellow campers,
Need some help with the Jayco bed flys.
We have just set up the Hawk with bed flys for the first time up in Mildura.
No worries......... 3 upright poles per bed fly....
What is the fourth pole per end for. It has a little hook on one end and a hole in the other end.
Some kind of spreader...... But stuffed if I can work out how or where it goes.
Any help appreciated.

Sounds like something thats come out on the new models. Interested to hear on this one. Can you take any pics?

sorry no help our old swan only had 2 poles

does it fit over the top of the left or right hand pole and reach across to the other far side and loop around (if that makes sense)
to act as a spreader and keep the fly from blowing onto the bed end??
It is a central spreader. the little hook hooks over a cleat that is screwed into the centre of the roof end just below the sail track and the other end (an eye) goes over the top of the centre pole. If you have no cleat on your roof go back to Jayco and ask for them.
I have never used ours and have used the cleats below the front end flys straps to hold it down when on the road (straps run through them) instead of what they are meant for.

Any tips for getting the bed flys back into the bag?.
I tried it at home and did find them a bit of a PITA to get back into the bag.
Any tips mint help for tomorrow mornings pack up.

Wind the camper down and as you do flip the end flys over onto the roof so they are out of the way. Fold all your canvases in and wind the camper right down, then flip the end flys back over. With two people (one on each outer corner), flip the shade cloth sections neatly over onto the top then grab your poles and hold them along the outer edge. Roll the fly from outer edge back towards the van tightly and evenly together with the poles now being inside the role (they are like the carboard roll in a handtowel roll and give you something to roll the fly onto). When you reach the top, tie each end off using the ties within the bag and then zip it up. We have never had a problem doing it this way as long as we make sure we roll evenly and first fold the shadecloth sides onto the top surface evenly.

Thanks Burnsy your instructions for the bed flys worked a treat.
Much easier than trying to get them back into the bags with the camper half up.
