I think they were all destroyed during the big gun removal by John Howard. I do remember a lot of RSL clubs being up in arms over it at the time .

I had forgotten, The Railway Park, in Byron Bay use to have a military gun.
Most towns had a military piece of hardware, in a Memorial Park.

With ANZAC approaching, I got to thinking, don't laugh, I do have good thoughts sometimes

I don't remember recently the last time I saw a Gun/Cannon in a local park.
Toowoomba, I recall had one when we visited in 09.
In 2011 when we travelled after the National Meet Wilmington along the southern coast, Port Fairy?
Just wondering why they are a thing of the past?
