Quote from: Oldengines on June 04, 2026, 02:03:15 PMHi, in the market for a usb rechargable camping torch,
so many out there, any to stay away from? or any must haves?,
cheers, Chester.
Hi,
Not a torch, but a head lamp.
We bought a pair of these about 4 years ago off ebay.
Motion sensor, usb rechargeable, couple of different settings.
We are happy with them.
We also have the Kings led rechargeable light sticks, with the magnetic base.
We seem to get a fair while out of both led lights.
We haven't had the need for a torch, as such.
Cheers

You don't use magic to disappear, ya use a 4x4 & Swag.

A lot of Jaecoos just depreciated more than usual and Tesla must be smiling with the leading car seller in Oz in May-
https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/other/fire-at-docks-that-destroyed-jaecoo-evs-occurs-weeks-before-china-s-new-laws-around-battery-blazes/ar-AA24Lx2e
One of four of BYD's shiny new RoRo car carriers just got a big fanfare delivering 5000 cars to Oz and you wonder who their insurer is. If one catches fire with any one of 5000 cars steaming about in future they're suddenly on the hook for the other three of them with insurance. Mind you I wouldn't want to be on the hook for their current excess now.

From another forum... not sure how legit it is...

FYI – DEECA is now attempting to stop people bush camping in State Forests near the Grampians.
This sinister warning may not be legally enforceable but they sure don't want people camping on their free public land.
4WD drive people may as well sell their rigs, you can't drive anywhere off a road to set up your camp (according to this letter).
* Parks Victoria polices the National Parks, DEECA polices the State Forests, the police police everywhere and may be your best option to call if these little DEECA fellows lose the plot and try to stop you camping.

We're only getting $100.00 per drivers license here in WA  . No license, no money. will be paid into a bank account & spent how you want. Not bad, as an aged pensioner I get my drivers license for $0.00 over here. If your license is suspended you miss out.
