Quote from: Fizzie on Today at 07:41:44 AMThanks, everybody, for suggestions re Clevis Pins - closest thing I've seen so far!

Thinking that mine may be a specially made up thing? CP are all apparently solid & reasonably short, while the one I showed you is hollow, 190mm long x 13mm OD!

If you can't find one for sale, you may be able to get someone to weld a washer to the top of a piece of tube, to make one.

Depending on the critical dimensions, and where it has to fit, you may also be able to just get a piece of tubing and instead of welding the flat head, drill a hole for a split pin to retain a washer slipped over the tube.

A pic of where it is installed maybe helpful.

I too, would of thought that the folder fire pit was sufficient, but no, it had to be 300mm above ground.

Wow!

I suppose, though, that we should be grateful that they even allow fires! A lot of Parks don't allow them at all.

Try an industrial fastener supply business Fizzie, I reckon they would be your best bet.

Hi Fizzie,
I googled SS flat head pins and this came up on Allie Express. "5/10pcs M3 M4 M5 M6 M8 M10 Clevis Pins With Head 304 Stainless Steel Shaft Flat Head With Hole Pin Bolt Pin Cylindrical Pins"
Hope that helps.

Quote from: Fizzie on July 24, 2026, 07:35:14 AMBut isn't the pit by itself good enough for the 300mm ???

We've never had a Park complain when we've used them just by itself!
Sorry for the late reply Fizzie.
Brooms Head Caravan Park, a lot of things have changed there in the couple of years.

All ash/sunburnt material had to be taken away, couldn't put the ash in a garden bed, yet when we arrived we had on our site, small chunks of carbon, and unburnt bark.pieces.
Hmm, yet others, caravans had their sink water/suliage  hoses emptying onto vacant sites.
We didn't argue, we enjoyed 2 nights spent around our fires, telling BS, and laughing.

You don't use magic to disappear, ya use a 4x4 & Swag.

QuoteOh, and doing one's census while travelling is a pain in the butt.
Just as much PITA at home!

Quote... as well as down to Restoration Island where we had a visit and cuppa with Dave Glasheen (the castaway who lived there for many years)
reading his story makes me jealous.

and yes stunning sunset!
