400 million guns in america, more guns than people.
Why didn't some one pop him?
I know that is simplistic, but if Americans carry soo many fire arms.
BTW, something has to change in their culture, but it won't.

I follow a few American and International running pages and it is not unusual to see someone (more often than not female) in the US asking for recommendations on a holster to carry a sidearm whilst running either concealed or visible depending on what state they are in.

Kangaron

A friend (female exchange teacher) was loaned a car during her stay. On her initial outing to the local shopping mall was given a 38 snub for her handbag and told there was a 45 in the glove box.
Was mid 2021.
No licence or training.

They did in the end
An unnamed law enforcement official told ABC News that Ramos was killed by a nearby lone Border Patrol agent who rushed to the school, despite not having backup.

A lot of people see AR-15 and think that the AR stands for assault rifle , it doesn't. It stands for armalite rifle , the company that makes them. They are a semi auto. A true assault rifle like the military uses are able to switch from a semi auto to full automatic. Full automatics are banned from sale to civilians.

That depends on the source of the definition doesn't it? The US Assault Weapons Ban (1994) even includes semi-automatic weapons in the definition https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Assault_Weapons_Ban#Definition_of_assault_weapon

But the fact is that AR-15 was designed and developed as a military weapon with high velocity rounds, capable of being fitted with large capacity magazines, and with the purpose of killing people.

Sure it is only semi-automatic, but in a normal sport shooting situation, why do you need a semi automatic rifle? and especially one that can be fitted with such a large capacity magazine. Yes you can bring out the old argument that they are more effective when culling feral animals in large numbers, but in reality there are only a handful of people that do that. And IF the argument was valid in that kind of situation, then there should be a totally distinct license for those scenarios, with very restricted access to such weapons by professionals only. Simply no need for them in sport shooting at all.

The Aussie SLR (L1A1) was only a semi-auto (without the legendary match stick mod)

Yes I read the Wikipedia link. Here is another link for you to read. The only point that I was making is that the AR in AR-15 does not stand for assault rifle. The same thing can be said about the so called silencer. There is no such thing , it is a moderator. It cuts the noise , nothing like what you see on the tv. You might hear on the news about police finding a pistol with a silencer on it. It sounds more sinister than a moderator / suppressor.

Correct, the AR in the model designation doesn't stand for Assault Rifle.. but WTF does that matter? even if people mistakenly think it is.. there are plenty more "Assault Rifles" in the yank terminology, that don't have an AR prefix designator, obviously. But the most popular "Assault Style Rifle" in the US is the AR-15, and can be bought by some numnuts the day after they reach the legal age. Probably just as easily obtained illegally as well.

As for suppressors, yes, I can see the practical sporting advantage of using a suppressor, but not with a pistol, or any short arms. Seriously, who would need a suppressor on a short arm, unless you had devious intentions?
