My poly coupling split, I have tight chains and a dodger setup with a ratchet strap.

Take it easy with more than a few check stops you should do it ok .. The strap looks like its going to chaffe a bit on the trailer knuckle when you  turn .. If anything maybe something added as an insulator, plastic sheet / icecream container type stuff.
Safe travels..

It could do with a couple of ZipTies.
You'd be good to do a lap then. ;)
You don't use magic to disappear, all you need is a 4wd & a Swag ;)

Surely someone in the park could loan you a hitch...quite a few spend a long time camped up.  Stop every 50klms and check it.   Good luck

Good to see you got home safely.  I,ve seen plenty of them break.  Do yourself a favour...go back to jayco and get a decent hitch set up.  These poly block setups are just crap.

An hour later and it's fixed

I agree these poly blocks are a bit crap

But I'm not home, just at the nearest big town on day 3 of our 2 week trip

Luckily I always keep a selection of tools

Mob by the name of Ozhitch do a replacement type  that utilises some of your poly block. You need to buy a larger drill bit as well.  I used one on an old off road trailer and saved a few dollars.  Heaps better than the poly block..

Looking at your photos not hard to see the problem. I originally thought the poly was black.  And cracking was visible.

Also there was a period where some poly blocks were fraudulent copies of the original Australia Standards compliant model. Maybe this could be part of the cause of failure.

My polly block disintegrated, as did my mates.  Age and stress related I,d say...bit like myself!!

Is the camper stored in a shed/undercover or out in the elements. Looking at how discoloured the block is.

lloydus67

It's stored in the front yard, mostly under a tarp

I just ordered a Mchitch treg adaptor.  One trip away in newish van and the connecting up of the treg  has annoyed me enough to look at options. Went with this as original is welded on and existing mount plate isnt large enough to fit bolt on replacement.
