How to start organising a Post Corona Meet!
« on: April 12, 2020, 01:34:22 PM »
Righto Folks,

Here's how I propose we get some Post Corona Meets semi-organised (for when the restrictions are lifted)!

Ideally it would be great if we had a Meet that is within a day's drive of any Swaggers who would like to attend/participate ie for Queensland it would be great if we could get Meets planned for North QLD, Central QLD and South East QLD.

Please don't be scared to put your hand up to organise one.  Although some Myswaggers have, in the past, organised gatherings that would rival any Guided Tour you would pay thousands for (and done a ripper of a job I might add), your Meet doesn't have to be a complex, complicated or highly organised affair.  It's as simple as you choosing a destination/venue that you know and love (or one that you would really love to visit) and creating a thread in this section saying "I propose camping at ***insert venue name and location here***.

After talking to a wide range of Swaggers both in person, via email and via PM over the years, I have discovered that most people don't place huge value on what activities are available at a venue.  What they enjoy most is a) putting faces to Forum Names, b) having a sticky beak at everyone else's Tugs and CT's and c) relaxing and getting to know their fellow Myswaggers.  Please don't feel like you have to "entertain" people - cause you don't.

Now due to everyone's "requirements" being a little different, people generally want to know a little bit about a Venue before making a decision about whether or not it will suit there needs so I would suggest that you research your Venue and provide people with the following information (please feel free to use it as a template when creating your "Meet" thread if you wish):

VENUE NAME:
VENUE CONTACT DETAILS:
LOCATION (including road address and distance to nearest town):
FEES (if applicable):
IS IT 4WD ACCESS ONLY?:
ARE THERE TOILETS (if so, are they long drop, flushers etc):
ARE THERE SHOWERS (if so, are they hot, donkey fed etc):
IS THERE DRINKABLE WATER?:
ARE THERE DISABLED FACILITIES?:
ARE CAMPFIRES PERMITTED (if so, are there pits or do you need a brazier etc):
ARE THERE POWERED SITES?:
IS THERE MOBILE/INTERNET SERVICE?:
ARE PETS ALLOWED?:
WHAT ARE SOME REASONS A SWAGGER MIGHT LIKE TO ATTEND?:

In summary Swaggers, please don't be shy. Either plan to join someone else's Meet or create your own!

Hi Jillsy, Swaggers.
As of now(6/11/2020) boarders have started to open up, put ya thinking caps on.
I'll kick it off, If Swaggers want to catch up,
On the 3rd of December, Fysh & Myself will leave(Lawrence, NSW), making our way to Camerons Corner.
Stopping at Moree, spend time at the artesian Springs/Bores over night/maybe two.
Then making our way to the cnr, no rush, no time frame, then making our way back home about 13th.
If you what to catch up,
Cheers

Hey mate,
You'll get out soon, make it happen.
It's been 10 years since we last made dust.
Last road trip was with young Jack, Mansfield National Meet.
Just the two of us now.
Kids are grown into adults that we are so proud of, it's our time now to reconnect :)
Spend time with the women I fell in love with over 36 years ago.
