They all float

Well except for a Defender. Usually would have as much water inside as outside.

Bloody gout   >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I'm sure I'll get some knockers her, but I'll give my 2.2 cents worth in the hope it helps you.

I suffered gout for about 7 years. Excruciating pain for 2 to 3 days at a time.
One night at the pub an old bloke asked if I was alright.
I told him I was getting gout.

He told me to eat celery. Works for him.

Yeah right whatever. Old tosspot!
Anyhow 2 days later still in pain I tried it.
Guess what.......
It didn't work.....  ???

Now I may be babbling on, but there is a point.
A few months later the SOB was coming back. I always felt a twinge before it came on.
I ate a shyte tonne of celery and it didn't come on.
Coincidence - Perhaps?

Anyhow every time I felt it I ate celery and It never came on.
I have celery regular now and it's been over 3 years since an attack.

Yep, now you're thinking I'm the old tosspot.
Perhaps, but I know it worked for me and I suggested it a mate a few years back and it helped him too.

Mate for a few sticks of celery twice week (Really nice when crisp and fresh, dipped in hommus) or chucked in salad or spaghetti.
It's worth a go.

Hope it helps.

GOUT  :'( >:(

Here is a little tip for you blokes ( me also) who suffer from it.

Immerse the part you have gout in hot water.Im talking as hot as you can possibly stand.Dont ask me how i came across this relief but im glad i did.Soak for as long as you can.
Cold packs or ice will only add to the pain as Gout is a form of arthritis.Very hot water will soften the uric acid crystals that build up in your joint(s) and really take the edge off the pain.

Another tip is Cherries or cherry juice.Much nicer than celery.Chilled water helps to flush the acid from your body as well.

Hope this helps.

Councils claiming Natural Disaster relief for beach front sand erosion.
WTF, the ocean dumps it there, the ocean takes it away.
Councils are the ones who approved the development on 'Sand Dunes',
Don't expect taxpayers and ratepayers to bail you out.

Agree 100%...

The Sunshine Coast Council restricted any development on the dunes for basically the whole length of the coast.
One of the few great planning decisions made by councils in our part of the world.

Apparently the cashed up Gold Coast developers pushed really hard to relax these rules many years ago, but the councils (it was 3 separate councils back then) held strong and now we have a proper buffer zone between the waves and the people. ;)

Hey Jon, you could have our bunch thieves, Council.

https://coffscoastoutlook.com.au/council-needs-to-re-think-orara-valley-bushfire-grant-money-priorities/?fbclid=IwAR01YVPnZnZ1GEBSAow_M7Hzm85eH7fXbyf6mF7XjNu---LmDauk69SKqzU

"Remembering, these grants are meant to be spent on Bushfire Recovery, the council has allocated nearly half of the funds already as follows;

An Interim Program of Works worth $416,784 was agreed. These were:

Nana Glen Community Hall – installation of solar panels and air-conditioning, $70,000.
Community Led Recovery Event – a single whole-of-community event with activities and entertainment to bring everyone together, $50,000.
Business and Tourism Support – Strategies to attract visitors, $68,000.
Appointment of a 12-month Community Recovery Officer with experience and skills in disaster recovery, $150,000.
Lower Bucca Community Preschool for the refurbishment of existing amenities and undercover outdoor area, $78,784.
Yet the Lower Bucca Community was not affected by the fires. This is clearly a case of council redirecting funds to cover their own funding needs in the opinion of many in the Valley.

$50,000 for a “Whole-of-community” event when people still have no homes?
"

Community recovery officer ????  Experience and skills in disaster recovery.......$150,000/year ???

Is this really a certified course....or a job for a mate of the council honcho ??

Just another example of why I didn't donate......less than 1 million ( out of 90 + million ) has actually gone to someone who deserves it.

You name a charity, and in the next 6 months, watch what new car the top brass are driving around in !!

After the back Saturday fires a ship load of money was donated for farm relief, fences etc down here in Gippsland. The big man sez as farms are a business and you are not allowed to donate to a business, that was a no go. To date nobody has any idea where that money went. If I recall correctly it was somewhere in the vicinity of $3.4m.
That was the proverbial straw for me. I no longer donate money. I donate my time and labour.

I no longer donate money. I donate my time and labour.

That is the only way to do it.

After being an active member of the Surf Life Saving Association for almost 20 years and holding several local board positions, in that time I learnt to live by that rule.

Surf Life Saving showed me that if you can’t physically put the cash in the hand of the person your donating to, you’re just funding the administration machine.

After the Brisbane floods I drove out to Murphys Creek and donated boxes of baby nappies and some good condition kids toys.
Then went and spend the day helping clean up 2 properties.

The joy on the kids faces and the tears in the old man’s eyes as he thanked us for our help went 1,000,000 times further then any amount of money that we could have donated to any of those ‘aid’ corporations.
