one for the victorians

Quote
Caribbean Gardens in Melbourne's east will close its doors to the public after 55 years in operation, with management citing the dire financial circumstances wrought by the pandemic for the closure of the much-loved attraction.

The 100-acre market and garden area located in Scoresby, in the foothills of the Dandenongs, closed due to public health restrictions at the onset of the pandemic.

https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/sad-time-much-loved-melbourne-market-closes-after-55-years-20200701-p55878.html

Translated, the market is worth nothing, andland is worth MILLIONS!

Quote
A 2013 report by the Motion Picture Association of America identified Caribbean Gardens as one of the most notorious hotspots for the sale of pirated DVDs.

The report said the market had between 10 and 20 individual market sellers "offering counterfeit region one and two DVDs, together with other sellers offering burnt DVDs of recently released titles".

Laughed at a comment lower down, when someone said they would take the law into there own hands because the boys in blue wont, And
someone got a nose out of joint in defence of the blue .
Our local blue ask for Age / color first,  when you ring . Then your lucky if you get a drive by a couple of hours later, if they even respond at all .
Got one red handed with stolen goods in possesion in the car he was trying to steal, one night .. Rang the local blue  1.3/4 hrs later the blue turn up, No questions and let the Turd go.
Reckoned they couldnt talk to the kid 12 >14 yro without Child services being present .
Would have to sue the parents for the $300 > $500  damage to the car  [ No mames taken, go figure how that would work ] ..
Sugested, Next time we wont call the blue and give the turds a dust up, The blue stated he would put us in klink quicker than we could blink if we did ..
So dammed if you do Dammed if you dont .

We had an air station at one of our local beaches. It wasn't free and cost $1 for so many minutes, and averaged about $2 to air up your tyres when coming off the beach. A shame it only lasted a couple of weeks before some @rshole vandalised it...  >:(

thats tragic

A man has died after being bitten by a shark in waters near Fraser Island, off the Queensland coast.

Paramedics and an RACQ LifeFlight rescue helicopter rushed to Indian Head on the island's north-east just after 2pm on Saturday.

At the time, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said paramedics were working to treat a critically injured man in his 20s, reportedly a diver. RACQ LifeFlight's medical team was winched down to the patient to assist.

Just before 4.30pm, a QAS spokesman said emergency services were still working to treat the man but police later confirmed he had died.

Foolish or not, it is still tragic. Surfers know the risks but its still a sad thing when one gets taken.
