Just saw this article http://www.mygc.com.au/roadside-breath-tests-back-on-across-nsw-ahead-of-long-weekend/

Not that I think any Swaggers would be doing the wrong thing , but expect to be checked if you're out there! :police:

Some of the tourist places might have to start marketing towards Australians.
In some motels in Cairns some motels I have stayed at, half the information is in another language an most of the staff are Chinese. The Australian staff were replaced, I was talking the the breakfast chef and he told me he was the last one left, everyone else had been replaced. My next visit he was gone as well.

Yes, obvious, but I was referring to the "80%" - that's lot's of people (most of whom have never been camping before ???) cluttering up parks & camping areas :'(

Water rates up around 3.5% for Queenslanders.  They say a rise of about $3.95 a quarter.  Not unexpected due to the virus and its effect.  I expect rego, fuel, rates, licences, applications, park entry, tolls....anything the govt controls to all rise...  Still better than  what could have been.

I heard on the wireless yesterday, we now only have 3 cases of Kooties in Qld.

Geez, Queensland, well, Australia really, dodged more than one bullet with this corona thing.
What a great place to live in.

I reckon daughter is going to be in strife when Mummy gets home ::)

4 times the limit.  Thats not being a mother.  Thats being a bloody idiot.  Daughter must have been terrified.  Mummy can probably learn from the daughter.

speed may not kill but it does contribute, any impact at speed is going to cause more damage than an impact at low speed. Fact based evidence shows that, we’ve all seen images of cars hitting trees at high speed and the carnage it causes.

how about teaching people from day 1 how to drive in all conditions - not how to pass a 1 hour test and off you go into the wild?

Isn't this the parents job? Are you blaming instructors or someone else?

I spent a significant amount of hours in the car with both my daughters teaching them how to manage the road and other traffic along with thinking ahead of you (ie: if you see a kid on a bike beside the road watch them and be prepared in case they suddenly swerve etc). I then had them go to driving instructor to learn the "rules" and get prepared for the test.

Unless you blatantly lie in the log book that is what the 100+ hours are meant to specifically do.

I would reckon there are plenty on here that didn't do anywhere near what is required now (me included)  ;D

You have me all wrong - I'm blaming the system. I think its far too easy to get a license... 20 questions and a lap of the block on a sunny day - yes its always been that way, but I still say its too simple.

many parents dont have cars too, many parents dont have the time either..

also in Vic - if the kids waits till 21yrs old they dont need to do the 180 hours... they can do 0 hours and get a license

Well that proves the point. As far as I know, speed has never killed anyone. But the sudden stop when they hit something definitely does.  >:D

Exactly, it’s not the fall that kills you it’s the sudden stop at the bottom.

Court rules tomorrow’s proposed protest in Sydney cannot happen based on Covid 19 restrictions
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-06-05/court-rules-sydney-black-lives-protest-unsafe-due-to-coronavirus/12324186

Can only assume that there will still be a protest but police will be in an unenviable position of uphold law and cop abuse or stand and watch , no winners in this.

How in the hell is the government going to allow these protesters to gather on mass while the rest of us are in lockdown?

Cant attend funerals for loved ones over a certain number of people, cant attend a wedding in case there are too many people there and so on but...........

.........gathering on mass to protest something that has nothing to do what so ever with this country and our premier is ok with this?

Fair dinkum  >:(
