Apparently Iran and the US can trade rockets but it is still surprising to them that fuel has gone up.

Our local fuel last 2 days has gone back down to $1.34... ????

Doing an online survey & the first question was about the value of your investable assets outside of super, so cash, shares etc.

As always, various levels to choose from with the first level being "up to $1 million", continuing through to "more than $700 million" :o

I'm not sure, but I don't think you'd find very many people with more than $700 mill of assets doing online surveys ??? ;D

Being on the fringe of a conversation to do with house Solar and battery set ups. Then to have one of the group talking,  Complaining  about people who had solar,  fitting heaps of LED lighting and then leaving them on virtualy day and night, using too much energy and are part of the problem to do with the climate ...
Shook the head and backed  away quietly .. ;D

There was that exact comment written in here not too long ago. Almost word for word.
Perhaps that phrase was uttered by one of the talkback radio gods... ??? ::)

Saw this comment a couple of days ago on another forum, where we were also talking about saving power & so on.

"I remember a comment made 25 or so years ago by a technically illiterate member of the public but it always stuck in my mind.

They were fine with the concept of rationing if supply was short but made a point that it should be done in mild weather. So instead of banning air-conditioning on a 40 degree day, it should instead be banned on 30 degree days and the electricity saved could then be used when it’s really hot."

That's understandable. All those panels sucking up all the energy from the sun. Geez in 20 years time we'll be going through another Ice age.
4.2L TD Toyota Troopy, (Clarke's Country Camper Trailer, softfloor.) sold it and bought a Avan Ray small poptop caravan. I miss being able to acces the little tracks off into the scrub.

Curious Planet [ formerly National Geographic ] is closing down, So the wife informed me two days after being anounced .. Thought Id try and pick up a cheap Tello drone in the 40 to 60% of sales .
Nup all gone, So the wife says  try JB HIFI  and see if they will price match .. Cheering  they did $170 down to $101 .. Got their last instore  Tello  drone  .. ..  ;D ;D
Yeah its a Cheap basic drone, But it  takes decent footage,  although with no gimble,  but it will do what I want it for atm ..
A good learning platform till I can step up to a Mavic Mini ..

Trying to check them out https://www.curiousplanet.com.au/sale but keep getting a 503 Unavailable error :'(

It would be nice to be able to see what's available if they want people to buy from them!

Not so much a smile but pissing myself laughing, eldest daughter telling me she went to do a sinus rinse, grabbed the wrong packet and mixed Ural instead of saline solution.
She reckons it stung a bit. ;D ;D ;D

Two parts; for those who are up in the NENW (and over to the Coast) at the moment they're likely to have heard the unmistakable sound of a Huey flying over; unfortunately, whilst working on the fires on South Coast, Lucy the pink Huey had a mishap, and ended up in the dam near Eden.

1) Pilot limped away from the ditching of Lucy:

2) RAN managed to get Lucy out without spilling any oils or fuel.

Similar to taking  the modem " Charge leads " ...    Knowing the Phone and  Ipad are on about 10 %, Just when they are getting right into a game "  No battery " . works well too .

Unappreciative kids reminds me of our case, we made sure we had a holiday every year but the rule was as soon as you decided you no longer wanted to go away, that was it, you couldn’t jump on board again next year.  Youngest decided she wasn’t coming to the snowys so mum and dad went alone.
Next year we did six weeks in south west WA, she was not happy when she was told she wasn’t invited and she would have to fend for herself.

I laughed, then realised that we took our 4G modem with us on our last month long trip to WA.
