5 weeks leave starting tomorrow. Just rang all the different outback northern shires I'll be visiting and all roads are open despite recent rains.
Pack tomorrow and make dust Thursday. Play nicely people and I may do a trip report. ;D

Well i no longer have to go out in the cold and walk the dog

We have some new neighbors with 2 kids and they came over to play with the dog.

1.5 hrs of the dog chasing the kids, the kids chasing the dog, all of them chasing a soccer ball and me and the new neighbor having a couple of cold ones.

There is now 2 exhausted kids in bed next door and an exhausted dog asleep by my feet so everyone is happy

Watching the wide eyed look of loss on Mister grandsons 4's face when he saw his train set missing from our lounge room floor. [ packed away for vacuuning ] .. It was easier for us than spot cleaning ..
Then the look of " I did it happiness " when he rebuilt it to a different version of the lay out ..  8) ;D

I have just made another raised garden bed and got a message from the daughter.

Daughter tells .

Daughter asks miss 4 1/2 who likes the veggie patch  "I wonder when poppy is going to plant things in there".

Miss 4 1/2, "I must wear my best ball gown".

Daughter asked to what?

The reply, "To help poppy plant his garden".

Followed by "poppy likes it when I look fancy"

Still smiling, the joy of grandies.

Sitting here being thankfull with a dodged a bullet relieved smile,  I only have a slightly bruised and blurry left eye, that dosn't have a chunk of Timber paling stuck in it .
Pinchbar removing screwed on fence palings from two old metal gate frames, to set up a welding table  ..
Heavily painted splinter of paling Richochetted off the metal frame straight into the left eye ..

Ouch! :'(

Still worth going to Doc / optometrist (even SpecSavers type people!) to get them to have a look & make sure there's no damage or any debris in there.

Last time I used Aus Post, according to their tracking, my parcel took a three week holiday in Ascension Island.
We're sent a parcel to the next suburb last week.  It's been to Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, got delivered 3 days ago, and 15 minutes later was back In Transit, and is now in Sydney again...

17 days is good. I bought a couple of little 500cc Aisin superchargers off a bloke on the Gold Coast. Sent Aus Post.

They took three months to get to the UK.

Yes, in normal times, but we are in total lock down here, and what hurts the most is the item from Notting Hill is incorrect so now I have to send it back  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Things may have changed but, when I was gainfully employed 5 years ago, the courier company we used had a system whereby, if an item was deliverable within a certain radius, they had a 60 min pick up and delivery 'Promise'. It didn't always go to plan, of course!

Now, getting the wrong item is a different matter again!

"Transport" is an exempt business, with stipulated condition's in place. These conditions mainly around having a "Covid Safe plan", and permits for exempt workers. The permits are just a Word proforma from government web site you fill out, sign and carry in vehicle.

Some restrictions in distribution centres around reducing personnel on site by 30% to reduce physical interaction. This is most likely where any hold ups would be.

Our transport business is still getting spare parts delivered out of Melbourne to our workshop daily.

Might explain why our new, upright, Waeco CRX 110, which was ordered on the 02.07.20 still hasn't arrived. :D

What made me smile? My younger brother, who lost his leg in a motorbike accident just before Christmas, sent me a pic of himself on his new bike. And got signed off by the doc to be legal to ride it with no modifications.
4.2L TD Toyota Troopy, (Clarke's Country Camper Trailer, softfloor.) sold it and bought a Avan Ray small poptop caravan. I miss being able to acces the little tracks off into the scrub.
