Holy crap..... what a day yesterday was.
Left home at 6am for the Goldie.
Managed to not miss the last exit before the border. (I'd been in the left lane for about 20klm so I wouldn't fukk it up)
Met the guy with the wheels and did the change over to the 3inch back space.
I'd asked him about 2 spare centre caps and got 2 for free.
Headed over to the mates business at Burleigh..... got $300 shoved in my hand for some bits he's sold for me.
I'd just finished my coffee when footy shorts Shane rang.
He'd just arrived at Burleigh, where I was going to help him load a gearbox.
Turned out to be the next street over.
It was a patrol box, transfer case, bellhousing etc..... they weigh a friggin ton.
We go the nod to borrow a forklift, even though neither of us had a forklift license.
Loaded and strapped and outta there in under 30 minutes.
Back to Driveline services at Archerfield to have the whizzbang alloy shaft checked. (I was worried, rewelding may damage the tempering of it)
No problem's..... can be shortened to suit.
Off the Greenbank to remove 2 power steering hoses from a Skyline. (By now, i wasn't really in the mood either)
Got there, the guy had removed them the night before and even wrapped 'em up in rags ready for me.
Off to Blob Jane Ipswich.... some ice head in a Magna with no hubcaps wanted to race the Statesman on the way.... he was keen.
Hanging half out the window trying his best for a run.... in a 60 zone.
Turned out too, he had summer teeth..... summer there.... summer missing.
Blob James had my white wall fronts in.... they look like a crossply, but are a radial.... will suit the Z car well.
Off home and in the house by 2 in the arvo..... 410 klm and a very good day.
