But can you imagine having more than one mother in law? I put a picture of mine on the mantle piece to keep the kids away from the fire. I'm glad she isn't on Myswag.

Easy....reduce the speed limit to 20 k/ph....have sensors on the cars that apply the brakes when drivers go to sleep from boredom.

The question we should be asking is why does it have to take until 2056?
I’m pretty sure the Americans didn’t know exactly how to put a man on the moon but they set a goal and deployed whatever resources were necessary.
I’m sure we already have days where nobody is killed on the roads, we just need to find a way to link them together, 1 than 2 than 4 than 8 then 16 and so on... not really that far fetched. Modern cars already have traction control making it much harder to have an “off” and other features such as lane keeping assist and radar cruise control are becoming the norm. Oh, and let’s not forget we (at least those left) will probably all be driving electric, semi or fully autonomous vehicles by then anyway.
Spending a day in the transport museum just goes to show how far we have come in the last 50-100 years.

It was not a long segment, it also includec the New Laws, RE NSW, .02 for all drivers, (a reaction to the prick who killed the three kids walking with each other, (btw, no out crying from some about that) and other changes regarding driving fines/demerit points.
It(news item) quickley touched on this, then cut the that idiot from from the NRMA backing it.
I wonder if it is a media beat up, after the Fires, now flooding there are a lot of reporters that need to justify their pay packets.

One factor in road deaths that can not be controlled,
Is the idoit behind the wheel.
Many Swaggers travel, whether for pleasure or work, driving many different vehicle types,
I'm trying to instill into our youngest who has his 'P's', his older sisters we did the same.
You drive, you are always to be looking for what the other driver might be doing or not doing.
Btw, I agree with you, there would be dsys were nobody dues on our roads, what/why/how.

I also try to teach my young bloke that is every drivers job to avoid accidents, regardless of who technically has the right of way with merging on the motorway a classic case.

As for removing the idiot behind the wheel, that will happen (or the car will at least mitigate that risk)

Hey Greg,
Many Truck companies have eye recognition cameras that monitor the drivers eyes, if their advert their eyes from dead infront, an alarm bell/notification is sent to their head office/ depot/supervisor.
It wont belong before it will have to be fitted to all vehicles.

I agree, Dash Cams Australia you would think would make people, go WOW WTF.
Nope, they are distanced from it.

In NSW ( not like Vic ) they warn you via a sign just before you hit a mobile speed camera car.....now they think if they take that warning away, it will reduce the road toll ???  WTF....99.9% of accidents that kill people aren't from drivers doing 10K's over the speed limit.
Same as reducing the alcohol limit....the people who think it's OK to drink and drive don't give a toss in the 1st place, no matter what the limit is !!

The govt knows how to reduce the road toll, but they also know it would cost too much money......teach people how to drive !! :cup:

This is part of the reason why there is a huge driver shortage in the transport industry.Hence is why you have 457 visa drivers that get given a license. If they can't read or speak English they can get their supervisor to fill their work diary out for them at the end of the day.Total BS in my eyes, because they have already worked their day with little or no fatigue breaks and no accountability.Majority of drivers wont work for a company who has a video camera thrust in the face and i for one don't blame them.

You will always have the suicide drivers that drive into an on coming truck or a solid tree, making the speed limit 5kph won't stop that...
