nobody mentioned to him his hands are not touching the car, which is called - "pushing"..
and that in our peasant world, it wont push itself ???

Years ago I came across a 4WD stuck at Inskip Point and had to stop seeing they were blocking the track. Walk over and there are 5 Chinese men in the car wearing suits (They were returning from Fraser Island so unsure why they were wearing suites)

Language barrier was a problem but I indicated we need to push. They all nod yes and then the driver puts up his window.

I knock on the window and let them know I’m not pushing alone and that the 4 passengers need to get out and push.  When they realised I wasn’t joking they reluctantly got out in there suites/leather shoes and pushed.

I made sure I pushed from the middle as the ones on the outside got covered in sand once the wheels started spinning.

I was talking to the previous Austin owner yesterday (money and stuff) and I mentioned we kept the mercury switch set up in the boot.

When I told him, Doug had never seen one before, it set him off laughing.
He proceeded to tell me, when he use to repair traffic lights and crap for the Brisbane City Council, that a mercury switch was used when the WALK sign, flipped to a flashing DON'T WALK before going to just DON'T WALK. (I can remember that too)

Apparently, the mercury switch is set up on a little see-saw style of fitting and that was how the DON'T WALK bit would flash.

He said, the mercury switch in the boot, would have come from an old set of traffic lights in around the 70's.

Classic car people...... the ultimate recyclers.

What was the mercury switch used for in the boot though?

Not all good cars, my Troopy don't have a boot.

But yeah, used to see a lot of home cobbled stuff like that on old cars eh. Might have even got it from a vending machine, or a pinny, but Jaycar and places like that used to, and probably still do sell them.

Or the IRA. They used them too sometimes. Might be worth looking a bit harder. You know...for other stuff.

Toyota have not advised of a cause, only that a number of things could of attributed to it.

So Toyota are doing the work - is it a warranty gig?

Went to look at 1994 FZJ80 today... it was too good to pass up after chatting with the boss when I got home from looking at it... 296,000km, same owner the last 10 years, $3100

Picking it up on Friday...

This does my head in.
As some of you would be aware, on the north coast(NSW), it's fire season.
Fires are actually all up the coast and into SE Queensland.
There are some real special people out there in Facebook land.
A FB buy/swap/sell group, a woman asks why all the smoke, she has heard the water bomber flying close by, she is crapping herself that the fires maybe getting closer. She has not mentioned where she is.
Several other users ask if she has the new Fires Near Me app? Mentions that you can setup alerts for your gps postion(up to ten) and check the RFS's web site.

She snaps back,
'I don't have the internet, can someone just tell me'

WTF.
Really, are they that dumb?

Edz,
I wanted to reply to her, but thought better of it.
However, some asked how she could be using FB and not have the internet.
Her reply,
'I'm using my phone, I'm not on my computer'
FMD, really.
