Some blokes are really cheap particularly with the low fuel prices at present-

Neighbour giving me a bit of a gee up about my battery mower not going the distance [ missed  an 8' single run strip of grass / flat battery ] missed by that much after an hour of run time ..
Then watching him ripping at the pull start and sweating in 30+ deg 80% humidity heat trying to get his old mower going ..
" Like this O'l mate " just swap in a fresh battery and press the button ..
I am now of the belief that there is the possibility of a battery powered mower next door in the near future . ;D ;D

we found some cash (was only several hundred dollars) just the other week actually whilst going through paperwork, been sitting in our room for 12 months and we didn't know it was in there with the paperwork. A chippy I used to work with told me of the time he found about $20K in jars screwed up under the floor after crawling in under a house...the old girl who's husband had died had no idea the money was there, lucky for her the chippy was an honest guy.
I found 5 crates of 1960's Penfolds Grange Hermitage under a house in Paddo Sydney in the 70's. I was crawling under running some phone cabling and came across a pile of stuff with an old tarp over it. Lifted the tarp to have a gander. The people had just bought the house from a deceased estate from the public trustee and didn't know it was there. No known rels so I guess became theirs. Didn't score any though.  >:( >:(

Cruising up the freeway today, window down, some good music on, when a 79 series with a tri axle trailer carrying a comp truck comes cruising past, jeez they are a sweet sounding unit with the right exhaust system on em, that made me smile, not winning the 80mill on Thursday so i could afford to buy one made me grumpy again

Was having an extremely rare moment laying on the couch just relaxing today when there was a knock at the door. I wasn’t going to move, I figured if it was anyone I knew they’d call out (like they always do).

I couldn’t hold back from laughing out loud when I herd the misses go to see who it was and proceed to give the God Botherer standing at the door an absolute mouthful for letting himself in the gate and making himself at home on our property. He didn’t get a single word in before she sent him packing.

I absolutely cracked up when she shouted “and don’t do it again!” as he slinked back out the gate and up the driveway.

I’m always working outside somewhere on the property whenever they call in. Last time I was building a rock wall by hand. Before he could start his speech I tried to hand him a bolder, he gave me a funny look.

I said if you help you can chat, if not you can leave. He tried to drop his little pamphlet, but I said he could put it straight into the wheelie bin with the yellow lid.

Apparently I’m much more polite with those pests then the misses is... ;D

Post turtle ?

An old farmerer is talking about politics with a young man from the city. He compares a politician to a "post turtle". The young man doesn't understand and asks him what a post turtle is.

The old man says, "When you're driving down a country road and you see a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle. You know he didn't get up there by himself. He doesn't belong there; you wonder who put him there; he can't get anything done while he's up there; and you just want to help the poor, dumb thing down."
