The young woman, on the bus home this afternoon, who perhaps enjoyed her Melbourne Cup luncheon just a little too much.

She wouldn't be the only one. :)
I've seen behind the marques on race days.
They can make a mess of themselves, free piss or paid for.
LOL, and through the week they will look down their nose at ya.

Picking the cup first 4 10% divvie plus had 20 on the winner so all in all a good day

A colleague got similar but only 5% had about 4000 reasons to smile.

Seeing / talking with the Elderly WW2 Black Cat pilot again.
He had Just had a medical and been declared fit,   plus  got a 100% pass on his driving ability test at the RTA .
He then  handed his licence back to them  as he felt he wasnt sharp enough to continue driving his wife around or share the roads with enough safety ..
The RTA ladies gave him his cancelled licence back laminated in with a copy of his driving ability test pass for him to put into a picture frame ..  8)
To top it all off,  it was his Birthday this week, he had sold his mint condition 25 yro Mazda and shouted himself a new mobility scooter ..
When I asked why he didnt apply to  Veterans affairs to get the Scooter, His reply was
" I made enough on the sale of my car, So I didnt have to Burden them  with the cost of getting me one " .

Christ what is his number so he can talk to my Father in law who has parkinsons and can barley keep awake for more than 2 hours at a time but insists that i can take him to the RTA to do the test so he can get his license back as he thinks he is fine to drive

mates old man 94yrs old thinks the same - but without the parkinsons (what a **** of a disease that is).. the concern is he drove to markets couple of yrs ago, collapsed getting out of the car, people helping him while ambo was ojn way, he got up and drove off before they got there...
it then happened few mths later again... same thing happened...
They have now taken his license off him.... but the car is still in driveway, and has moved numerous times mate tells me... he thinks his old man still drives to town for stuff :o

Yeah i hear ya Bird and i feel for him. Had a similar thing, he was put on a restricted license but being the way he is thought that was BS so took himself to the RTA to do the test to get his full licence back. Apparently only made it around the block before the instructor told him to pull over and took his license off him all together

This gentleman is still quite active and with it mentaly, what ever his parents / he did in his former years bringing him up,  has held him good stead health wise, well into his mid 90's .
Baring unforeseen sickness or failure, I reckon there is no reason why this Young fella won't break the ton + and get a letter from the King . .
Imagine that,  Having started out life and served under a King as the Monarch, rallied and served under  the new Queen and hopefully lives long enough to get a letter and finalise his life under the  newest King .  Being a Royalist I'd reckon he'd be happy to end with that .

Going way back, prior to WW2, my grandmother didn't drive (as many women didn't at the time). Papa was militia pre-war, then was mobilised & headed to Nth Africa with 9 Div.

Their car was naturally still at home, but he'd had it put up on blocks in the garage before leaving.

Nanny (who was a very stubborn Scot :D) put up with public transport for a little while, then got a family friend to take the car down off the blocks, show her to drive it, & she did - & continued to do so for the next 40 years :o

My wife has Parkinson’s and yes it’s a F.......    She has had DBS surgery and it’s been a help but she has to be at her very best before I will let her get behind the wheel. She’s only 58 and it’s really tough to try and get her to sell her old laser and dispense with her license. I think it’s about hanging on to some normality in life for as long as she can. I reckon if she has done 500kms in the last 6 months it would be a miracle.

And to top it off, just before the support act started I got a call from BCF. Sign up to do a 20-30 min survey and they will send me a $50 Visa card!!

Besides the fact they already have enough of my money, that made me smile too.

Yep,
Sometimes I forget the last time I cleaned it.
Had a couple of hours spare this arvo, a couple beers  in the shed, some tunes and gave it a good clean. :)
It was misfiring every now and then.
:( usually when you really didn't want it play up.
