Already posted on the Bargain thread, but I still can't get over it!

Got hold of a ~30 litre Summit Gear pack for $10. Yes, the guy selling it knew what he was selling but was pleased to see it go to someone who would use it for something.

New they're about $200 for something similar... and that's slightly different in terms of the back system and the hip belt.

Lobbed it through the washing machine and it looks a load better; just nicely worn in. Needs one new 30mm male clip for the lid, but otherwise all working.

I'd been told, that AutoPro in town, had better prices than Repco.

I rang Repco for a price on 2 strut mounts for a 97 Hyundai. $100.0 each.
I rang AutoPro for a price on the same thing and it was $70.00 each.

Ordered them, (out of Brisbane) went into pick them up after 2pm.

Told the price was $99.00. I said ...... EACH?
No mate, $99.00 for the two of them.

I was honest and said that was wrong and ended up getting them at $99.00

The old Magna that I bought for Dad needed a new muffler for roadworthy.

Looked on line, could get one from the Gold Coast for around $400 delivered.
But didn't want to wait the few days for it to get here, so I gave Repco a call.

Was shocked when they said they had one in stock in Caloundra, and they only wanted $990.00 for it.....  :'(
I thought I'd be a smartass and said I could get it for $300 delivered from the Gold Coast.
It took old mate about 3 seconds to say, yeah no worries we can match that..  :o

So Repco can knock $690.00 off an item (or 70% off) without a second thought and still make profit. I guess what people say about them is true...

Hi,
   Nah - that's  for pussies!
Chuck a few in behind the speed flaps of a Sabre jet, snap freeze at 30,000 ft and return asap.
Works a charm - not that I have ever seen that done of course.
Cheers

Yep, they'll all work, but I reckon the paper in the freezer is just a bit cheaper & easier ;D

Changing subjects, but just saw this one:

A few? we used to chill 50 slabs or more in the panniers of a Canberra Bomber in one go.
4.2L TD Toyota Troopy, (Clarke's Country Camper Trailer, softfloor.) sold it and bought a Avan Ray small poptop caravan. I miss being able to acces the little tracks off into the scrub.

Been sweating our arses off all day today digging fence post holes and bracing up the posts, was darn hot and both myself and the other guy working with me downed about 8ltrs of water each....random lady living across the road from the job we are doing walks over around 4.00 p.m and asks if we'd like an ice block each, she must have seen us slogging our guts out all day today 8) kinda helped take my mind off the blisters I now have on both hands after wielding a crowbar most of the day.

If I suggested that, I'd know what it would end up filled with given that the wife was excited with Subaru Brumby she found on Farcebook earlier...
