Yes, very disappointing Mark. She'd have been very upset.
We installed in her to make a good impression and she was let down by this service.

Finger crossed the interviewer understood why she was late.

I would have phoned the day before to double check....and as you found out....I don't trust any business to run their business like they should. Customer service has deserted most businesses.

Contact Noel Cowling and let him know.
Most people in Maclean know you cant count on the taxi service.
A far cry from when my parents and myself owned them 27 years ago.
Hopefully Laura gets the job.

Bring on Uber next time.  >:( >:(

I wasn’t a fan of Uber when they first started.  I thought it was wrong the way they basically ignored the law to get a foothold.

But a few workmates were using them and i thought i’d give them a go. Now i use them as my first preference... vehicles are typically much newer, drivers are generally excellent and the app makes them much easier to book.  They are also cheaper but I’d happily pay as much as a standard taxi for an Uber any day.

Calls from electricity retailers. We average 2 calls a week from a Melbourne number attempting to offer us a deal we can’t refuse for our electricity supply.
My response these days, rather than just hanging up, is to advise them that they need to do some research before wasting their time and mine. ‘We live in an area that has a single supplier, we don’t have the option of choosing a supplier, goodbye’ hangup.

Currently camping at Bundaberg CMCA site, listening to the guy next door bitching about the fact that he couldn’t get his TV working to an acceptable standard for the wife. Last week we were at Inskip Recreation Park and watched the same, to us humorous, antics with our next door neighbour. He must have spent at least 2 hours per day attempting to get ‘metro’ reception for his TV while ‘camping’. Why these people don’t save themselves some money, sit in the lounge room, with perfect reception, watching the action of other people camping.

Bundaberg would have to be one of the worst major towns in Australia for getting good tv reception. Sounds like it hasn't got any better since the last time I was there.

Southern coast of QLD. About 400k north of Brisbane, 20k inland from the coast. Think Taree NSW, but in Queensland.
Given, I think, you are from Victoria I can’t imagine any of those references mean too much.

Hey Al,
Get a load of this.
You reckon your council has lost the plot.
"Clarence Valley Council (CVC) will use the $42,000 it applied for through the Local Government NSW Flying-Fox Grant Program 2019 “to employ a flying-fox officer, revegetate habitat in the Maclean rainforest and trial canopy-mounted sprinklers to create buffers without vegetation removal"

https://www.clarencevalleynews.com.au/maclean-flying-fox-colony-to-get-sprinklers/
That's just screwed up.
They are flying rats in some of the National areas.

I want to jump off this rock.

Tax payer funded catholic education at it’s finest....
This weeks assignment for a year nine class in a Sydney catholic school;

“Your mission is to present to your Local Member of federal parliament, a letter expressing deep concern for the future of protection of religion freedom and freedom of speech,” the cover letter said.
The assignment said Folau — “who stands as the face of religious freedom” — had become the “most discussed and divisive figure” in Australia in recent weeks.
“If we do not act now, our future rights will be depleted and many will face tough sanctions and may even lose their job just like Israel Folau,” the school task stated, further encouraging students to please accept the invitation to write the “very important letter” to their local MP.”

Apparently they didn’t get the Prime Minister’s recent memo to kids who want to tell him what a crap job he’s doing, something about “more learning in school and less activism”.

Or maybe that bit of advise just depends if what you’re protesting suits the governments agenda or not...

I guess it depends if they are trying to eradicate the Flying Foxes, or just create a buffer between them and the rest of the area. Apparently it can work as a buffer, but it won't get rid of them completely. They'll just move to another suitable close spot.

B@st@rds roost in next door's palm tree near the fence line, and crap on my car and van. I sometimes use a sprinkle of gravel, in my ging, to deter them. But that only works for a few hours.

Might be worth removing the fruit/seeds from the tree, that's likely why they are coming.

That's exactly the reason why they roost there, but the neighbor is a PITA. He did remove them once, but hasn't bothered since that one time.

Something interesting I found out too. If you accidentally give a palm tree a bit of a drink of roundup, while your digging out the weeds and killing the roots, if it doesn't die completely, it stops fruiting for a couple of years.  >:D

I just looked out there today and noticed the woody weeds are starting to sprout again too... LOL
