Sorry to hear Hairs, sad news,it is always upsetting to lose a family pet, they really are our best mates.
All you can do is make him as comfortable and pain free as possible. My old bully went the same way and I decided to put her down, one of the hardest things I have ever done but it was time.

We had to put our rotty down a few years ago. She was one of those dogs that was the “best dog in the world”, fine with kids, great guard dog/protector, just the perfect dog. I’m not much of a crier but that day I cried more than the missus and kids. Getting emotional just typing this now haha!! We only had the morning to make the decision and it was bloody hard but you gotta do what’s best for them.

Hope the next few weeks you give Toby a few extra treats!!!!

Sorry to hear that Hairs. We had to put our old boy down just after Easter. It’s always hard to lose a member of your family.

Thanks everyone,
It means alot.
It was a long night, talking, giving him cuddles.
It's going to be a rough few weeks, the anger has gone and we will make everyday a moment to remember & cherish.

Went through having to put our dog down 6 months ago. Certainly not nice. His name was Bo and he was a Blue Healer cross and had a good life to the ripe old age of 11 years. But age wasn't what his problem was, he suffered from abdominal cancer for nearly 3 years. Yes vet bills were a killer. He worked on our farm from the age of 8 weeks working cattle at least every other day. The last few months was the worst as he still wanted to get out of our UTV and do his job but after a couple of minutes he realized he couldn't do it.

RIP  " Bo " working dog.  I hope the cattle up in heaven are fast because he will be rounding them up.

Just another observation on all this. Our fuel bill for our UTV was $25.00 a fortnight - It is now $75.

Dan.

Yep another one,
Why is it that on any news channel of an evening there is a story about the property market?
One day it has bounced and everybody is happy, the next investors are worried.
Why is there so much focus on it.
I thought property is a long term investment.
You buy when it is cold, you sell when it is hot, if it isn't hot you wait.
Or do I have this wrong?

or it's something a journo read on a Facebook page  before needing to submit a story...the amount of weather stories I've seen run on tv that copy a hyped up weather person's Facebook page posts is past being coincidental IMO.

I've noticed that aswell.
The same story can vary so differently from one news channel to the next.

I asked this same question on another forum a while back & got told it's because domain.com.au is owned by Fairfax, while realestate.com.au is owned by News Corp, so their respective TV channels keep talking real estate to push potential customers to their sites!

Our local Council being the cluster f%$# they are with the Mayor having a casting vote to vote for a Cultural and Civic Space building to house Library, Art Gallery, Museum, Cafe, Civic area, Council Administration and Council Chambers along with other facilities at an uncosted figure of $76.5m, expected to blow out to easily $96m, to be built in the already chocked CBD.   We have the perfect location City Hill, some 12ha of untouched land sold by the Federal Government for the sole purpose of Cultural Precinct but apparently now that site is unacceptable and not fit for the purpose.  Maybe becasue it is on a hill and not on the swamp to be flood affected like the CBD.  The Project started as a dedicated building for a new Library and Art Gallery.  The site would have allowed the required current and future expansion of a Library and Art Gallery.  That plan has been so added to the multipurpose building will not offer current adequate facillties.  In fact the 'new' Council section will be smaller then the current Council building and will have more people in it.  The Museum will have sufficient area to display about 10% of it's collection.  But our Mayor keeps telling us this is what we want.  What we want is to see her go.
Cheers

Al,
Sounds like Coffs Council has been infected with the same brain dead/bought by big business syndrome as Clarence Valley Council caught years ago.

Hey our mob have just let the DA of a servo(Yamba) be changed so they don't have to collect surface water into a holding tank(which was a big item they had to meet for approval from the state gov/epa), now they can wash it down the storm water network.

Oh, and my rates went up $400.
I don't have kerb & gutter, I don't have a sealed rd, I don't get mail delivery because it is a dirt rd, yet my address is in residential.
And our council has applied for SRV again, 4 years in a row.
This Fit For Future thing is BS

Local Goverment in NSW has become answerable to nobody.
