Has anyone has any luck challenging the Valuer General’s land value assessment?

I did some years ago with Sydney City Council that valued the land at more that I had paid for it and the four bedroom house and a little factory on it five years earlier.  It was behind a very busy pub. I quoted other valuations chapter and verse and they listened very patiently and courteously before they told me to get lost.

Good luck with any challenge.

Getting some mowing done yesterday.

Just sitting on vitamin C truddling along on a nice, almost dead level section of yard, when friggin bang.... mower stops dead in its tracks.
The bonnet flew forward, the back of the mower jumped over slightly, so it had got the rear wheels off the ground briefly. (it does about 8 or 9kph)

I had a sore shoulder already, so this didn't help the cause one bit.

I backed the mower up maybe a metre and had a look.
The front of the deck was down a tad.

The only thing I can see, is the brackets each side of the roller must dug in.

Over to the shed, re-adjust all the deck and test it heading back to where I was up to.... perfect.

And away we go.... friggin thing has done it again..., really doing a number on my shoulder this time.

OK, if it ain't the mower, it has to the grass....

The grass is, maybe and inch or so high and a bit sparse, due to the friggin dry.... and there she is.

Its that dry here, the top of a broken off star picket has managed to appear.
I've mowed this area heaps of times, never been an issue.... until yesterday.

Went and got the sledge and beat the f**k out of the picket so its nice and deep in the ground.
Numerous swear words graced the area as I solved the problem.

When I was done, j heard a voice and I glanced over the new house next door, about 100 metres away, to see the folks moving in, all stopped and looking in my direction.

I doubt we'll see much of them coming over to say hello.

Hi,
    Pesky pickets!
On a recent club trip, two of the vehicles found one in the grass where we turned off the road to the camp.
As it was a survey marker it couldn't be touched, so a few rocks were strategically placed.
Cheers

Why everything needs a password these days with mass complexity and you save them to your PC as you'll never remember them in 3 years time when you need it...

Then you rebuild your PC... and have no ****in idea of most of the 110,000 passwords for every****inthing

Dont get me started on those 'we need to make sure your not a bot, click all the pictures with a ****in car in it' things.

All I can say is thank god for things like Apple Keychain and 1Password, makes it a bit easier to find your passwords when you need them.
Of course there is always a chance they can be hacked I suppose but two factor authentication helps with minimising that.

Piss easy to remember ya password.

Just use a parent's middle name and add a 1 to the end of it.

No need to thank me, just send money.

I find phrases are easier to remember, especially when you link them to the thing that the password is for.

Like adding a number to “Ihateapple”
Or insert the name of your head of IT depart to “isAprick!” with a number on the end. ;)

Driving back from Mansfield yesterday on a wet day. Apart from getting stuck behind the usual caravan who doesn't know what speed he wants to do.  In the 2 hour trip had 3 oncoming who couldn't stay on their side of the road, drifting over the centre line.

Hey Pottsy, didn't you get the email????

The worlds gone mad!!!

FFS really? What about the rights of people who enjoy carols? (I'm not one by the way!) but fair go. Why can't everyone just stop trying to find a friggin platform to scream from and just get on with life?
Seriously are people that bored with life they have to find Shit like this to do?
Get some real problems you spanks!

Mate, I can understand your frustration.
I do however have a solution.
Take 2 camping trips a month, with freshly pressed, crushed and fermented grapejuice and or fermented wheat, hops and barley.
This remedy will only work if you combine it with some hardwood combustion and light grilling of fresh meat. Add pepper sauce for flavouring, but this is optional.
Should your symptoms persist, try doubling the dosage.

It really does work.  ;D
