Fekkin imbeciles at Trinity Ford in Cairns that have no concept of how their dumb desisions impact others. Some johnny has decided that rather than airfreight the parts that we have been waiting a week for already, they decided they would send them on a truck. With monday being a public holiday there is no chance of us seeing those parys until altleast next Tuesday now..... 😖

Strangely enough, no-one at Trinity Ford in Cairns want to admit to making that decision?

If they'd bothered to let us know yesterday that was going to happen, then we would have insisted on the airfreight, or even driven the 20h round trip and collected them ourselves.

On a completely unrelated issue, if you ever find yourself in Weipa needing any auto bitsnpieces, go to Weipa Auto, NOT REPCO.

Wanted a packet of 10amp fuses and a circuit breaker. Weipa auto was $2.80 for the fuses and $18 for the circuit breaker, Weipa Repco was $6 for the identical packet of fuses and $44 for the identical circuit breaker  :o :o

I mentioned to the bloke at the counter in Repco that 2 doors down the road was half the price as him....  he just said "good for them".... he couldnt care less that he was ripping people off

Yep, we're quickly discovering that Weipa operates on NT time...... Not Today, Not Tomorrow

In all fairness, it no fault of the Weipa locals. It's just that city based supliers have absolutely no concept of the logistics involved in a remote community.
As far as Trinity Ford think, it shouldn't be any real problem because the parts have left on a truck and they think they've  done us a favour by saving a couple of hundred on freight? They cant grasp the concept of that truck taking 5 days to cover the 800k ? And the couple of hundred saved has been doubly spent on accomodation waiting for the parts.

. Not being ungrateful , just frustrated with a broken / failing miss managed health  system .
Big Shout out to the INCOMPETENT medical Pro that cancelled the wifes much needed infusion drugs order,  only been having them fortnightly / monthly for near on 7 years..
Go to town, play the usual roundy roundy lottery for a hospital car park,  get in the waiting que to get hooked up at the cancer unit,  go through the trauma of getting the wife [ always painful for her ] hooked up  and " Ohh your drugs order has been cancelled   " What tha !! its a standing order with no end date ..
Hours of trying  to sort out why only to be told " Ohh theyre not here today " call back next week after the long weekend . In the meantime a fragile patients Morale / health  has sunk literally deeper than the Titanic ..
Love ya work PROFESSIONAL,  Just so happy about it, we could do hand stands and blow bubbles out our arse with the excitement ..
                                                                                     NOT !!!
Sorry to hear that Edz. I can’t imagine the stress that causes.

How is it ok for them to take more water from bores than legally allowed? If they all do it water tables collapse.
How is it ok for them to hold back more river water than allowed in dams? They are stealing from those down stream. If it was a mining company or processing factory doing it would it be ok?
Time is coming when nature shows us just how many farms are actually sustainable, and it is lots less than we have now.

Cheers Glen

I think there are a whole flock of specialists and engineers that understand why there is a need to regulate water usage. That's why dams and pumping water have to be licensed and approved. The average Joe Blow doesn't understand the impact it can have on a multitude of others that use or are affected by a couple of greedy buggers. Downstream farmers, river health, aquatic life, downstream aquatic industries.

BTW your SM-P585Y using Tapatalk doesn't do emojis and links.

When I post it doesn't show the tappatalk/phone model thingy, shows tbe link, it shows the emoji. I got no idea why it is so
I shows it after it has been posted.

Farmers stealing water, well lets see the price of Shit rise to where we import bloody everything.
We are producing less & less.

If I edit the post I can remove the tappatalk signature.

Stuff up the river systems and it will cost us a lot more. Species die off, algal blooms, fishing industry that was at the mouth of that particular river killed off, downstream farms no longer viable. But the ones who grab more than their entitlement may be OK.

Even if they don't draw from the river, but rely on rain catchment or pump from bores, it still affects the hydrology of the whole area. Maybe one or two grabbing more than their entitlement during, good rain periods, won't matter much. But if all of them start doing it, especially during a low rainfall periods, it will have a big effect. What did they say? some were six times their allocated size.

So, how many and which ones are you going to clamp down on? Why is it OK for a few to do the wrong thing to protect their investment and income, at the expense of others?

Geez, now I'm sounding like a greeny  >:D

Just got word that The Clarence River has completly stopped flowing above the junction of the Mann River, yet the Darling Downs Council is pushing to dam the Clarence and pump water North.

They're only in Cairns so you'd think they'd understand ???

I've got an Auntie in Blackall, & a few years ago, she was trying to sort out an insurance problem. Speaking to the bright, young lass in Brisbane, who suggested that it would be quicker & easier if Betty just popped into the Office & did the paperwork there - "We've got a branch in Toowoomba - would that be convenient" ??? Ummmm - NO! >:D

Imagine if it was dammed all the water that could be collected in the good times including times of flooding rains. Certainly has merit.

What they haven't explained and probably don't want to explain, is this basically relates back to the Blue Berry growers in the Coffs area.  The blue berries have really taken off over the past several years with a lot of farms that were previously bananas or grazing are going under berries.  The limits and licenses they are referring to is the difference between domestic and agricultural.  When you have a dam, bore or pump for domestic use but in turn are using that for agricultural ie growing Blue Berries, that is where you run foul of the Authorities.  Instead of getting the right Water license and paying the right levy, using domestic water for agricultural purposes is the big problem.  If the growers had the right licenses and water usage, there is no problem.  At present it just gives more ammo to those opposing the berry growers.
Cheers
