A few years ago a friend went to visit relo's over in the USA.
Prior to a shopping trip to the local mall, prompted a visit to the master bedroom [armory],
where everyone was given a revolver for the day.

Well you never know when the Zombie Apocalypse could begin...
Personally I'd prefer a big club with a spike in the end. They don't run out of ammo...
4.2L TD Toyota Troopy, (Clarke's Country Camper Trailer, softfloor.) sold it and bought a Avan Ray small poptop caravan. I miss being able to acces the little tracks off into the scrub.

I could imagine that happening in some areas, but in the 2 times we went over there, the people we visited ( Virginia ) didn't own guns and none of their friends owned any, so it's not as if "everyone" has a gun.
But they all believe they should have the right to own one.

Just saw this http://statements.qld.gov.au/Statement/2019/7/30/tollfree-opening-for-toowoomba-second-range-crossing-in-september?utm_source=linkt-brisbane&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=aug_newsletter_cons

Supposed to be open 8/9, & free for the first 3 months :D

Be interesting to see what effect it has on the old road, with a lot of heavy traffic not using it ???

Interesting to see the proposed tolling being subjective to the type of vehicle including a Ute being more than double than for a say a wagon
$2.30 v $5.70

The way I read it is that the $5.70 is if the ute/van is registered as a commercial vehicle, if it's registered for private use then a ute will be just charged the same as a car.

What I have been led to believe is that you can have a car, a ute or a Landcruiser being private registered and it's  all the same price. If you have say a Ford Ranger type Ute, it is classed as commercial when registered and is charged as such. Doesn't  matter if used for private use. Doesn't  matter that a Landruiser is bigger and heavier. Be interesting when the tax department stops those with them claiming things on tax saying it's  for private use. Will that then flow to the toll vampires and will they have to charge a cheaper rate or will it be one system says it's private and the other system says it's commercial.

If it is like Melbourne toll roads it is the type of vehicle and not the type of rego.  My Hilux is "commercial". As are all utes.

My old XF panel was deemed commercial because of its rego.

Lucky for me, no toll roads in Tin Can Bay at the time.

The odd time I took it to Brisbane, the gateway toll was way dearer.

I'm looking forward to having a run along the TRSC road.

The tolling in Qld is different to Vic. For light vehicles (cars) private rego means normal charges, commercial use rego means the higher charge rate.

Having said that, my neighbor bought a second hand Triton ute that was an ex-government car. When he set up his etoll they continued to charge him the commercial rate and it was a pain in the arse to get fixed due to the toll company outsourcing all the phone calls to overseas and not having an office that Joe public could walk into.

They already have to some extent.
The boys in the city have to carry a tape measure, to work out if a knife is allowed.

Yeah.... Right.....
So it’s exactly the same thing to be standing there waving a knife around not touching a single person and him standing there firing a gun killing everyone in this picture.

What a stupid argument to try and start..... ::)

Yep, standing there waving it around, even standing on top of a car waving it around, not touching anyone.
Do we assume you’re saying that if he had a gun in his hand instead of a knife there would still only be one dead and one with minor injuries. ??? Really... ???

Not taking anything away from the tragedy of what has happened today.
But we all know the game you’re trying to play here...

Not touching anyone? The only reason why there wasn’t further damage is because he was chased by blokes with chairs and a firie with an axe.

My point is... you can ban firearms but that won’t stop people.

But okay yeah he was just standing there waving it around and those people injured themselves.

But the previous argument was that bad people can get guns anyway.

Here’s a bad person that thankfully couldn’t get his hands on a gun.

I count 12 people in that image I posted.
If this guy had easy access to a large capacity semi automatic weapon it’s pretty safe to say the death toll today would have been at least 12 times higher then it is.

Do you really think there would have been normal people chasing him down the street with chairs and a milk crate if this guy was firing off 10 rounds a second?
