great discussion here, with many interesting viewpoints worth considering.
Just throwing in another perspective, would the same opposition be there if Falou's religion were Islam??
Just asking the question........

I think the Aboriginals were in the same situation when the missionaries turned up, Bruce.
Didn't help them much either.

Fire at Adel’s Grove
https://omny.fm/shows/hit-mt-isa-breakfast/adels-grove-destroyed-by-fire

Some words from someone camped there last night

“We are at Adels Grove, at 1 am I woke to people screaming fire! I could see a huge fire and the wind was picking up, the fire started in the reception building I believe, the whole building has gone. if you are planning on coming here you may need to rethink your plans. Reception here is coming and going, I suspect there will be no phones lines here. Everyone here is okay, I will do an update in the morning”

Fraudster given 226-year payment plan to return stolen money to Centrelink
Benjamin Ansell
A Melbourne childcare worker who stole more than $91,000 in welfare payments from Centrelink must spend three months behind bars.

Ikraam Mohamud, 31, pleaded guilty to taking cash from the federal government agency while she was working at multiple childcare centres and failing to notify Centrelink of her income.

The court has ordered Mohamud to pay back $88,000 to Centrelink in instalments of $15 a fortnight, meaning it will take the fraudster almost 226 years to return the money.

The single mother was sentenced to serve two years in prison but will only spend three months behind

When the young bloke finished High School last year, it turns out we were paid 1 extra payment of Family Tax Benefit ($280!!!) that we weren't entitled to, due to C'link not stopping the payments at the correct date.

They realised their error a couple of months ago & told us that they would recover the amounts at the end of June.

Yep, $150 out of Mrs' Newstart last week, + $130 next week :'(

$15 a fortnight would have been nice ::)

Did you ask them if you could pay it back over a longer period?

Who would buy a unit in Shitney!

An Erskineville apartment development remains a ghost town more than 12 months after it was completed, with the City of Sydney refusing to allow owners to move in over fears the developer did not properly clean up toxic land underneath it.

The Herald's revelation that owners have been prevented from living in a fourth Sydney apartment building over safety concerns comes less than 24 hours after an emergency meeting between the state and federal governments over the country’s building standards crisis.

We dont have any standards otherwise we wouldnt be where we are now.
The problem is that Snobby Syndey has an issue, so that means the whole country now has to have an issue.

We all knew how this was going to play out when their Premier got up and said her government made a lot of money out of all of the dodgy developments they had approved and now someone else would have to be held accountable for the ugly problems they let happen.

But everyone made lots and lots of money, and that's all that matters in Sydney..... ::)
