Hi, does any one know if you can buy a camper trailer tent with base (new) in Darwin. I'm 7hrs drive from Darwin and building a trailer up at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even a good second hand one.

Google is your friend there are quite a few places that should be able to help you with one of these    http://oztrail.com.au/find-a-stockist  And this mob http://www.oztrail.com.au/products/product/listing/camper-trailer-tents  trailers not included ..
A mate has the outer ridge scout rear fold with extra side room .. Delivered  in a bloody big cardboard box and he fitted the tent to his 7 x 5 trailer  [ Just be aware of the tent drop measurements from the bed deck ] He had to adjust the trailer overall height .

Just be sure that you get one that suits you. No good getting a tent with a big annex on the side if its only for you. .  I went through this process several months ago.  Ended up ditching the tent /annex altogether and bought a quick set up coleman tent. Use the trailer for boat and storage and a lot quicker to set up than the annex. They are expensive for what they are as well.  There are a couple of Aussie custom manufacturers who will make one but they are $3-4000 .

It might be a bit different in Darwin but you couldn't make a soft floor camper for remotely close to what you can but a decent quality used one here in SEQ. Everyone's situation is different but if you haven't done much with the trailer it might be worth looking at buying a 2nd hand camper that's already good to go. The prices they end up selling for is often crazy cheap, mostly just due to supply and demand because they seem to have somewhat gone out of fashion.

Buy the tent before the trailer... then you can get the tent drop heights and other things right...

Post it up with some dimensions in the for sale thread, I have wondered a few times about converting my normal softfloor into a walk up, then if you can't get any buyers I can low ball you  ;D

Dimensions though would probably be the make or break for this pipe dream.

Could you please give me the size and price. It needs to have at least 1120mm drop. If you can what brand is it and condition.
