I watched the first 3 of the top 10 and had to change channels. I could not listen to the commentators. The most sterile commentary I ever listened to.
Cheers, Mike.

As an avid supercar follower and having been involved with stone bros and Erebus for seven years I thought I'd have a gander and see how our boys go but like cool blue I couldn't get into it, the commentary is woeful.

Might watch some tomorrow with sound off

To me it appears that Mercedes may win the 12 hour . The AGM safety car has been leading the race for more laps than any other brand .

I turned it on for milli second... this could be so good.

its obvious they are using the worst commentators they can, why is there a Yank chick doin the pits, some old pom dude putting people to sleep, and as said, renaming many of the corners and straights etc.

that way they dont take anything away from the boring taxi's

Bit of an anti climatic race end but with that much damage stopping the race early was the only call to make.

I enjoyed the bits I watched but I watch lawnmowers race and enjoy it.

It was a big hit that ended the race, similar to Mark Porters death. I think they need big lights to warn drivers if theres someone parked around the Reid Park area.

Or a different flag or way of waving it if the road is blocked or the drivers need to slow right down.

On the replays you could see that the flag marshal did have the yellow flag out , but it was hanging limp . As soon as the AGM hit the parked up race car the same marshal started waving the flag big time .

Me thinks that they ( race controllers  or who ever ) need to vet the marshals a bit better .

When the car driven by Paul Morris pulled up with flames , the woman marshal was in no condition ( A little large ) to hop/jump off the wall and project  the contents of the extinguisher into the point of flame .

Problem is the marshals are usually volunteer which I know doesn't excuse lack of training, especially when it comes to waving double yellows frantically in such a dangerous location but the lady who was a bit caught out with the fire probably didn't want to jump down onto the track even if she could ;)
I could easily see that the flames were coming out of the far side bonnet vents but it was easy for me, I didn't have the adlerian running from being there in arena doing the deed  ;D

When the Merc came in to camera shot at full throttle I did wonder what the Marshall was doing with his flag.  You do have to wonder.

As for the 'fire' Marshall lets be glad it wasn't a serious fire.

They all have in car commuinications with race control.. quite simple for them to go "**** SOME ****S CRASHED TRACK BLOCKED AT REID PARK - SLOW THE **** DOWN!".

Don't some codes have a big yellow light in the cab for that reason.  With the amount of money that was there on the weekend there is no excuse for sub standard procedures

An Aussie would respond to that...but.
Can we have the French, Pommy and Italian versions too please.

Don't think they have, but easy to install. Race control sees the crash, hits the big button and the light comes on in the cars meaning they have to slow down to say 100 k/ph !!

Or like F1, they have a virtual safety car, which is flashing lights around the circuit and they have to slow down to a certain speed !!

l tried to watch the whole thing  , but nodded off due to the early start . The Mt always bits somebody  & again during the race it happened  , All we missed was the guest appearance of  " Skippy " at some stage or another . Perfect way to spend the day    :cup:
