Just went for a drive down along the coast  for look at the surf, Absolutely packed to the afters everywhere ..
Had to laugh at those in the caravan parks paying a premium for the privilege of being crammed in like sardines, guy ropes near  vertical / overlapping up to the next doors vans / campers awning / annex / tents / tarps etc ... Noooo thanks .  ;D
I detest caravan parks even though I happen to be sitting in one right now.
I can suffer through this one.

Right now I count 7 empty sites between me and my nearest neighbor. ;)
I filleted our days catch yesterday afternoon and ate about 1kg of fish fillets for dinner last night, then chased it down with a couple of big rusty mud crabs for dessert.
Just about to go throw the net to get bait for tonight’s fishing trip.

Oh, and thanks to a little bit of wind, some light showers of rain and a developing cyclone off the coast I haven’t seen a single caravan with Victorian plates all week. ;D

Lots of things there to make me smile....

Can’t say too much mate, there are too many Mexican eyes around in here... ;)

I can say if the forecast was for light variable winds instead of the 25-30 knot SEer that’s been blowing since Owen passed right over the top of this place and smashed the daily rainfall records there’d be a lot less empty sites at the van park and no spare car parks at the boat ramp....

The good lady asked if I was using the 'cruiser tilly for anything and if not, could she borrow it as she wanted to do some pruning and trimming.
"All yours" was the reply.

Yesterday, The Maclean Twilight Rodeo was held, organized by The Lawrence Rodeo Committee, which I am a committee member.
Months of planning, getting thingd just right, having hot, but good weather ,makes for a huge crowd. All moneys raised go back into the local community, with some put aside for a rainy day so these groups can still operate and provide for their members and the good work they do.
Last year the committee gave back to the communitty $27000.00.
This year we are hoping to top that, will post after our presentation night.

I've seen most things, but I have never heard of or seen a pair of Streakers at a Rodeo.
They climbed stalls, ran through yards/pens and one was finally caught.
He ran into a group of Cowboys waiting their turn in evens, well they gave him a bit of a toweling until the Coppers arrived.

Held proceedings up for about 30 minutes.

Ahahaha, could of been.
Something else made me smile Yesterday,
While attending to the top gate, a white dual comes in, three young fellas and two girls, all in their early twenties.
They insist that they are competitor's( competitor's know that they pay at the gate, get a ticket, go to the office and have their name marked against their nomination and get credited to their account the fee) and blow up, insisting they don't have to pay.
The office would have any of it.
They left, yelling crap and disappear out the gate.
30 minutes later the same ute pulls up, two girls only, they pay.
I radio to some of the RFS guys, to keep an eye on the vehicle, the girls park, get put and join the crowd.
The RFS guys stay by the ute for about 20minutes, it is as hot as, 38 degrees,
Then out of under the hard cover come three blokes sweating like nothing else.
Security are called and they are frog marched through the crowd to cheers and hackles.
It must of been bloody hot under that cover for the 3 idiots.

Bloke on another forum says he pulled up behind one of these at the lights this morning >:D

Half way between scarey & funny :D

But I'm also pretty sure you're breaking every rule in the Weapons Act :police: :'(

Just thinking about it - be better (more fun >:D) to have this mounted behind your number plate. Somebody is tailgating you, push a button, your rear number plate reverses so this is facing backwards, ideally with a red, flashing LED bulb clearly visible - tailgating problem solved ;D

Watching a DVD we got many years ago [ I just found in a box of stuff  being sorted ] that has decent  early footage of travel on Fraser Island and blokes camping on the recently run aground Maheno  ..
Had fun pointing  out the landmarks to my youngest  showing her some of the areas we camp how they used to look .. The film maker mus have pretty well off back  in the day to have a movie camera and at a later stage colour film . The latest footage on the DVD was dated 2003 .

Through a guy closing down an Auto Electrical shop, I scored 2 brand new starter motors, one for a Camry, one for a Magna, plus about a 100 globes, maybe 10 or 12 head light bulbs, some fuses and  head light restoration kit, all for free.  :cup:

Then yesterday, i scored 2 bottles of homemade scotch, blended to approx. 60% alcohol.
Smells divine.... well give it a taste test soon.

Continuing on the electrical theme... got the trailer brakes reconnected after cutting them 5 months ago to fix the trailing arm suspension... my soldering has got better - still best if not looked at too closely, but they're solid solders (I hope...)
