I have a mate in the USA who states that they are cheap, no frills cars for young people. No carpets, no luxury. Cheap and practical. I believe he said they are approx $20k - 25k USD.

In Aus?....place your bets.
I think $46,990

mike

With the Aussie $ at near parity surely not?

schmik

I have no idea on the price. That is purely a guess based on where i think they will position it.

It is supposed to compete with the jeep wrangler (and in the USA that is the way they market and price it).
In Aus???

How about we start a comp. Guess the price. The prize can be 'the glory of winning'.

cheers

Why not, just a quick look at the US web site shows Camry starting at USD$20k, but here it is AUD$30k before on roads, and aren't they made here and exported to the US?

I do belive its a case of we have /you want , Our toys will cost "Chuck a dart at the price wall " then we will go to the Add Man to make it work . Or based on the Aus $ at present dive in quick before it turns , its harder to pick than a broken nose

Its a bit hard to make out in the photo below, but the red Hilux is the same vehicle that was used in the "Top Gear goes to the North Pole" episode.
