I am looking at purchasing a tinny for a camper topper, 3.9m long 1.51m wide and weighs in at 100kg. I don't have my camper yet but this tinny is a good price. I am looking at purchasing a pioneer or something similar when one comes on for sale.

Can it be done?

TIA folks

It would rely totally on the trailer and boat rack system...

You could fit lot bigger on GeoffA's trailer for example...

For memory, 100kg and 4.1 is about the limit for a Kimberley Kamper, so depending on camper, yep.

Yeh that is the drama, although most of the trailers I have been looking at sadly don't come with loaders, so I would probably be looking to get one custom fabricated and could just get it beefed up.

Would be a lot nicer having a decent size boat, when dodging the lizards up north.

What's wrong with the Folda Boats?
Lighter, less bulk, could be bigger than your Tinnie.

Saw a lot of people using the plastic boats on our last trip north. Think they are called Ezitopper. Talked to 4 different owners of them. Light weight, strong and stable was the consensus.
Around the 60kg mark, not the cheapest, but makes for easier 1 man handing.

There's a big difference between kneeling down

Plastic Boats, Folda Boats, both a little bit fragile when you confront a big lizard.
That's if your really going North with it.
That's the only hazard I can think of.

The Ezytoppers arent the fragile sort of plastic, and their unsinkable due to inbuilt boyancy.

Yeh just had a bit of a look at those Ezy Toppers. They aren't really my cup of coffee, they look pretty tough tho. I don't think i could not go with the trusty ali tinny. Plus they are a pricey little thing thats for sure.

I have had a look at this 3.95m tinny, Which is a Brooker Trekker. About 100kg i can stand at the back and lift it up fairly easily, It is a hull only and I am picking it up for $500 its in fairly good nick too. Now to find a 15hp motor and a folder trailer!

I want a Quickboat but they are having "production problems".

Fold up boat. Just strap on top of roof  racks or CT.

Hard getting any real info or if the company though regarding supply. Around $6500 all up with 9Hp motor
You can't spell 'funeral' without 'fun', nor 'manslaughter' without 'laughter'

Must admit I was REALLY shocked at what just a basic 12ft tinny with small donk and trailer costs these days when looking at the show other day..

This is the folding boat I mentioned.
They call it a porta bote.
Don't know how much, but I can imagine a big lizard making a mess of it.

If your patient and willing to wait, unwanted prizes pop up every now and again for less than $5k.

Looks brand new mate, I am going to whip up a trailer with a mate, he owns John papas trailers over here so should be able to get it all licensed pretty easy aswell.
After my prototype they might even put them into production.

if I'm going in the water in a boat anywhere near where there maybe a croc, its not going to be something that can be flipped by a croc...

Our boys had them too.  We called them Army Ducks.
There was at least one at Puckapunyal for flood work out that way, Not sure if it's still there though.
Based on a 1940 GMC truck chassis I believe.
