I have just bought another vehicle & have been on to the Club 4x4 website to look for change of vehicle instructions. Their website is solely aimed at selling new policies & not in any way geared to help their current clientele. Surely there should be a section for the clients to log in to get information about their current policy. Very disappointed & it has changed a simple change of vehicle on a current policy to getting quotes from other companies. Message to Club 4x4 .... show some respect to your insured customers!!

I've never insured with a company that lets you change vehicle without taking out a new policy...

You get emailed and mailed your policy when you renew, so you should already know your insured details?

The call centre is very good to deal with, and I find it a much more personal experience than dealing with other companies...

This is what I would have expected, extract from NMRA website:

How do I change the car on my policy?

If you want to transfer your current cover to another car, you can make the change online. Log in to your account then:

Find the policy you want to transfer and select View policy
Scroll down to Vehicle and select Change vehicle
Choose the date for the changes to begin then select Continue
Enter the new car details and select Continue
Change the Insured for and Basic excess amounts (if you need to) then select Continue
Check all your changes are correct then select Update my policy.
If you need to make an additional payment to transfer your cover, enter your payment details and select Pay now (payments can take up to three business days to complete).

From discussions at our club, here and other forums, I dont think they get many return customers.

You are comparing the website of a large corporation with a small specialist insurer, adding that feature on the website would be worthwhile for someone the size of NRMA but not Club4x4. Is it that hard/bad to pick up the phone? From the few times I have called them there has been no wait time as compared to the larger insurer which the alternative to doing it online means waiting on hold for a while.

Shaker,

You're right, we don't have the functionality for you to log in and "self-serve" like some of the bigger companies do.

Our experience has shown that the majority of our customers (old and new) prefer to have interactions on the phone. As such, our focus has been to maintain a strong phone based serviced - a little old fashioned yes, but we'd rather focus on customer preference.

We are open from 8am through to 7pm for sales and service, with a 24hr message service with basic capabilities. We recently also moved to a 24hr claims service off the back of feedback around our availability which you can read more about here. https://www.club4x4.com.au/the-new-club-4x4-our-revised-hours-of-operation-and-service-capability/

Ultimately putting in place the type of system functionality noted above is significant, but useful for some. We've chosen to invest in our phone service instead.

Cheers

Kalen

I'd agree with that.. As long as you can understand them... (Unlike some telecommunication and IT companies)

Some of the online insurance sites are too "Rigid/Fixed" without the ability change options, or add the amount of accessories many wheelers have. Then at the end they tell you to all them anyway.

I get similar treatment from Apia. Cheaper to get an online quote and reinsure the same vehicle. Rang them once and the bloke couldn't understand why I was irate at them looking after a new customer but not the existing one ??
But every year when I look elsewhere, they are still cheaper, so I put up with them.

Just wondering if anyone else on here is having trouble with Club 4x4, in regards to taking out monthly payments for their policy?

G'day Cassgazz - its a known issue that we are working through - we hope to have everything sorted in the next week or so.

I could have my team look specifically at your policy of you'd like to send it through?

importantly, anyone who has been part of the delayed payment issue is 100% covered. There is no way that we can cancel a policy without letting a policyholder know in writing that we are doing so.

Just received my renewal
Can I suggest you need to be clear on payment arrangements.
Theres no mention of whether its an auto debit renewal, no link identified as payment portal, no Bpay.
You have links to Pats dribble mag, the safety shop and the PDS, but nothing to the only bit that most of us care about.
Im going to have to ring up to find out the most important bit.
Going to your web site is useless, it only shows links to quotes.
You need simple and clear payment methods with instructions for cranky old bastards like me.

Cheers Glen

Hi Glen,

Happy to take a look at your policy for you. Can you send me through a policy number please?

The payment method doesn't change from what you selected when you took up the policy and the paperwork you would have received at that point would have explained that you were on a direct debit authority - i think you're right thought that it doesn't say if it is credit card or direct debit.

in any case - i'm always happy to take feedback - i know our documents aren't great at the moment so happy to take your thoughts on.

With so any different insurances, regular auto debits etc we all have now, most peopoe wouldnt remember if they had auto renewal or not, thats my point. Clearly lay out what needs to be done and provide a link, or clearly mention its auto debit and no action is required.

Cheers Glen
