Thanks for your reply but I have already renewed my policies with AAMI and we are on the road for 12 months now so I will stay with AAMI.  But when renewal comes around again I will ring Club 4X4 to enquire further. Good that you have answered our concerns here, that is a big plus for your company.   :cup:      Kevin

Hi there Club 4x4. I just got a quote which seemed reasonable, but for some reason you seen to be quoting your premiums with a high excess $850. this obviously brings the premium down, I requested a quote with a excess the same as my current insured and you were $200 annually more expensive. I was really keen to give you a try

G'day Swannie,

Unfortunately that is the way we have got our basic excesses now. What is the excess for your current insurer? Many of the mainstream insurers are a bit higher than they used to be.

Cheers

$650 mate

mmm that's frustrating. Unfortunately nothing i can change at the moment, but will collate the feedback for future use. I guess it just comes down to either paying it up front or in the form of an excess should you need to claim (hopefully not!)

Sorry about that.

Hi 'Club 4X4'

Can you clarify on this point - 'Club 4X4 have to agree in writing for any modifications from manufacturer specifications'.

Does this mean something as simple as a 2" lift?
Bull Bar?
A small increase in tyre size?

Thanks

so has anyone on here signed up with these guys yet? Their premiums seem ok and having mutli vehicles helps. But the big key is how they handle a claim

Hi there Homer Jay,

My apologies that it took so long to respond to this question.

What needs to be considered here is that in our PDS we call out under the exclusions sections that any vehicle involved in a claim must be compliant to the road regulations of the state that the vehicle is registered in - ie. it must be roadworthy

Other than that, if we offer you a policy and you receive the paperwork it is our acceptance based on the information we have collected. THe PDS however reflects the exact crcumstances and exclusions that go into your policy.

Hope that makes sense

Kal

Hi Homer Jay

1) Off-road Cover. Here is an article that might be helpful http://www.club4x4.com.au/gazetted-or-nos-the-question/. One thing we had to have 100% right was where you are covered. Our line is very clear, gazetted, non gazetted or cutting your own path you will be covered anywhere in Australia. As long as you doing something illegal, illegally trespassing or disobeying road closures or local law enforcement directions you will be fine.
2) Loss of coolant - I can't see anyone that does comprehensive motor insurance that will cover you for mechanical damage. We aren't any different. We do however have off-road recovery cover, this article http://www.club4x4.com.au/covering-your-recovery/ gives you more information about that too. No one in the market including the insurance agent you are currently with will provide you with this cover. We offer $1500 in the basic cover, and you can pay extra to have up to 15k, or 30k cover if you are doing Cape or the Simpson etc.
3) Contaminated Fuel - i clarified that one above, sorry that there was a mix-up there.
4) Agreed Value including accessories - this is a key differentiating point for us. We come to an agreed or market value assessment of your vehicle, then we ask you how much you've invested in mods and accessories. We then add the two together and that's your sum insured.

Hope that helps!

I hope this is not a reflection of your policies but the way I read that there should be a 'not' in there somewhere.  Either that or you are offering some really great Insurance coverage.
Cheers

G'day Bundy,

Modified 4by's are our bread and butter - what have you got?

Home made campers we will definitely look at but cant promise coverage. Is it currently insured? PM me all the details and let's see what we can work out - if all looks good i'll get one of our sales team to give you a call and quote you up.

You can call me batman! - no really Kal is fine.

Hi Kal,

just looked at insurance through you guys for $60000+ Defender, price is reasonably good $1053, $350 cheaper the affinity brokers.. you then dropped it another $90 for a multi policy discount... great.

and then wanted $1687 for a brand new 2016 camper valued at $23,300.

Do you consider off road trailers as a high risk item?

Gday Liege,

No we don't. We are having some issues with the pricing on our caravans and campers at the moment, We are looking at removing it from the website until we fix it and encouraging everyone to give us a call to discuss more - hopefully we can change this in the coming week or so.

In the meantime please do give us a call when you come across a price for a trailer of any type that doesn't seem reasonable. Have your current insurance policy handy as we will ask to talk about it to come to a reasonable outcome.

Really sorry about that.

Hey Kal

Can you advise what your young driver policy and excess is?  Can drivers under 18 drive the fourbies?  Also what's the excess and does an excess apply to learner drivers?

Just going through my second claim with allied and interested to see if you have it modified?
Here for a good time, not a long time!

Good Morning achjimmy,

I can confirm that under 18's can drive the fourby. A learner driver doesn't need to be noted but if you have someone other than you driving the car regularly enough that you can foresee it you should note them down as an additional driver.

An important thing to note is that we do give you the opportunity to lower the premium by excluding drivers (various rating scales under 20/25/30 and 35) If you have excluded someone then anyone in that age range (except for a learner) will not be covered when driving your car under the policy.

The excesses typically will be listed on your Certificate of Insurance. The reason why I say this is because there may be variations that are specific to each policy, but in general the excess for an under 25 is 1000 if theyre noted, with an extra 1000 for any claim where an under 25 driving was not listed.

Some examples:

Your vehicle is damage whilst being driven by a 20 year old but theyre listed on your policy as a driver. Basic excess (dependant on what you chose) + Under 25 excess ($1000) is applicable
  • Your vehicle is damaged whilst being driven by a 20 year old that is NOT listed on your policy. Basic Excess (dependant on what you chose) + Under 25 excess ($1000) + Unlisted under 25 excess ($1000)

Hopefully that clears things up?

Cheers
