I found this forum via Google and, as a Jayco Dove Outback owner, I thought it might be a good alternative to caravanner forums. It seems the industry has decided that my Jayco windup is a camper trailer when I consider it a camper van - a term apparently reserved for aging Volkswagons and the like!  I suppose sometimes "tent trailer" owners will also wince at generic descriptions of their pride and joy!

In any case I thought good solid practical people who aren't afraid of a few modifications here and there may lurk on the forum and it seems they do!  I've enjoyed reading some of the hands-on posts and look forward to more.

I'm a scientist and not trained in metalwork or electricals but I do like the challenge of making things and modifying or "setting up" my camper to be practical and fun. It's a nice change to do some work on the computer, then something practical on the van.

I really like novel fixes to problems and better ways of doing things so am looking forward to seeing much more of this sort of thing.

Cheers!
