If i was going to use hooks, i think i would buy mawby hooks, they are made for the job.

Just looking at that site & spotted

That chain looks way too skinny for 3.5t hooks ???

The hook is hanging in the correct way in the picture, they make two size hooks for the chain size.

Pays to ring around
Anyone experience with Aus Seniors Insurance?

House and contents due and they seem competitive $$$

RACV -
Annual $1631

Aus Seniors
Annual $1731

Shannons
Annual $2445

AAMI  (current insurer)
Mth $2424

Seems quite a difference which usually concerns me..

Australian Seniors is underwritten by Hollards - a South African coy. Been in Oz for about 15 years. They underwrite Club 4x4 and KT in the offroad motor market too. The coy you would be dealing with is just the distributor or Authorised Representative. Shannons and AAMI are both Suncorp coys and RACV is sort of CGU. Personally I would choose RACV out of the 4 you have listed. They generally try a bit harder because their customers are club members. I haven't checked Aus Seniors pds but because it is aimed at the o55s it is probably ok. The demographic has better claims experiences and that is why the lower premiums.

When I renewed our H&C a month or so back, I went with Budget Direct.

& as I put: http://www.myswag.org/index.php?topic=41624.msg1068730#msg1068730, upping the excess had quite an effect! ;D

Bird - further to my response to your question yesterday re insurance. I have analysed Australian Seniors pds and compared against RACV.

For the premiums involved Aust Snrs has some shortfalls that concern me. The main one is the Removal of Debris limit of $10k or $15k depending what option of cover you choose. This could leave an insured dramatically short. Most / many limit this to 20% of the sum insured but RACV is not limited other than what they agree to in order to clear the site. Disposing of fire damaged materials is exhorbitantly expensive now and limited to only one or two sites around Melbourne. As a property owner you would be obliged to clear the site regardless of what your insurer covers. The Aust Snrs cover wouldn't go close to covering it.

Water damage, theft limits, little things like alcohol, bikes etc etc are all much better under RACV (and most other insurers for that matter).

I  incorrectly assumed that Aust Snrs would be akin to Australian Pensioners which is quite a good cover but sadly I was wrong. It is little more than a very basic policy.
