All finished now, had a party on Saturday night and pumped out around 45 pizzas, extremely happy with the end result and can't wait to use it more.

We have a few acres on the coast that we like to camp at regularly so i decided to build a little area to keep the fires in one place and do a bit of drinking and cooking  ;D

Its not finished yet. Im going to find some more beer barrels to make a bin and possibly I have a bench seat idea using those slabs of wood I built the bar top with. The only thing I wasn't overly happy with is, one of the pine posts must be a bit soft as the shade cloth bends and twists it under the force of holding itself up. But I may live with it...should of used steel posts.

Over the last 12 months, we have made some changes.
Where the pool was, is an area that got some attention, made a pond

Side veranda got some treads/steps.
Decking needs to be replaced.
From the shed, down to the lawn got a set of steps
And under the windows finished off with some hardwood decking
Karen has also started vegie garden.

Put 150kg of fertilizer down just in time for the spring rain. Just finished mowing and sitting up the back with a beer admiring the lawn now 😊

Thanks mate,
Found it in the scrap metal pile at the Metal Recyclers, It looked like a scrunched up ball of rusty wire.

Today's job.
Built a fold up shelf to put the 9kg gas bottle on when the big up runs out, the safety chain will go through the handle of the 9kg to the eye bolt.
Use to put the 9kg on a chair while we waited.

Anybody ever tried it ???

Interesting theory, but I've never tried it.
I've got bit of a problem with creeping indigo at the moment, wonder it it might work on that? So far nothing short of napalm seems to kill it  >:(

Starting another little project in the back yard this weekend  :)

Last weekend we we were doing a cookup in the outhouse (or pizza hut) & we wanted to sit around the firepit but it was raining. Using some bits & pieces that were lying around behind the shed we quickly cobbled up a bit of a tin roof lean-too over the firepit. As a proof of concept it was a huge success & I received planning permission from the council of civil affairs (Mrs Spada). I've been scrounging around for the required bits & pieces this week and hopefully I'll have it done over the next 2 weekends.

Plan is to continue the existing pizza hut roof line another 5m and kick it on a 45° for another 3m at the end. All sides will be open for ventilation & I'll build a hood & chimney over the firepit. The posts have been donated from a neighbour, 1 scored an 8m LVL for the front beam off gumtree for $50, Saturday I'm picking up 20 sheets of bullnose tin for the back roof section. I'll need to buy some treated pine to make the roof trusses today, but I'm just going to use fence battons to keep costs down. All I've got left to source is about 20 x 3m lengths of rusty corro for the front face of the roof (i've put a call out on the grapevine for that).

No progress yet, but the 1st pic is the before & the 2nd pic is the rough arsed temporary we threw up last weekend.

Progress report  :D

Posts & beams done on the weekend, trusses made Mon/Tue and put up today. I need to frame out a section between the trusses either side of the change of direction in the roof over the next couple of days and hopefully be ready batons & tin on the weekend. I can only sheet the back half for now until I've made a hood & chimney for the firepit... A fellow swagger has offered to help me with that bit & glue some steel together 8) ...and I'm still looking for old tin.
