Hello from Canberra
« on: October 05, 2014, 08:14:56 PM »
Greetings!

I'm new to the world of camper trailers and have made heaps of rookie mistakes so I'm here to learn from the Masters (just call me Grasshopper).

I have fond childhood memories of camping with my family and was a keen camper until I injured my back many years ago.  I have a young child and wanted him to experience the same fun I did. We did a few tent trips and once I was sure he liked it I invested in my first camper trailer - a Skamper Kamper Ranger.

As my username suggests I like to glamp rather than camp - comfort is my middle name - so I'm looking forward to reading how other members modify their campers to suit their posh needs.
I have no idea what I'm doing but I have fun doing it.

Welcome from another Canberran.

Time I got off my butt and organised a local get together!

The forum is great for learning new tricks, and 'meeting' great people.

I glamp in a Skamper Kamper Ranger. I wasn't in a position to spend $15,000+ on a fancy model, and while I've heard some horror stories about the cheaper models I did my research and Skamper was perfect for my needs.

Next step for me is lighting - I'd love a setup that I could leave attached and that could be operated on 12v and 240v.
I have no idea what I'm doing but I have fun doing it.

Some LEDs wired to an AGM battery with a 15A Projector 240 volt battery charger will give you 12V and 240V lights.  The Projector has a supply mode as well as being a charger.
