Funny that most of the reasons against daylight savings is because it's too hot in the afternoon. Makes you wonder why you live there if it's that bad.

So far this morning I’ve taken the dog for a 7km walk, worked on the trailer for half an hour and pulled a few weeds out of the front garden.
Sitting down now with a coffee and poached eggs on toast watching the news with another 15 minutes before I need to take the kids to school and then start work.

Geez I wish we had another hour of darkness... ::)

If only there was a way to use the sunshine to do all those things without having to start at 4:30 am in the middle of summer!  ;)

That is exactly the point.
Get up with the sun at the real time it rises (not what time you want to pretend it does) and hook in before it gets too hot.

It was 5am and heaps of light when I walked out the gate with the dog this morning.

On the weekends around here we all work on our lawns from about 5-5:30am and get done with the sweaty stuff before 9am.
Then have some breaky and head to the beach or the dam for a swim. ;)

Makes you wonder why clowns living 3000kms south think they have a justifiable opinion about fixing something that never needed fixing.
And don’t start me on the number of Victorians moving up here.

That's the thing, working outdoors at that time for most outdoor workers/tradies isn't allowed. The cool of the morning has well and truly gone by the time you can make noise and start work. From an outdoor workers perspective, DL is better for minimising being in the heat.

I never went to school without shoes. My mother would not allow it.

When we moved from NSW to QLD, my first day at school, that was the first thing I noticed. About half the boys and a few of the girls had bare feet. And we sat on a long bench seat and had slates and slate pencils.

They had "big lunch" and "little lunch" and must have all been p!sspots, because the teacher wanted to know where my port was, and I was only 15...

We had to wear footwear on school photo day. Otherwise it was bear feet all year round.

Lately I have been sweating due to the amount of energy it is taking to keep the bloody flies away.

Flies and 37 degrees on Monday  :'(
