Yep,
Motivation can be hard to find some days

found some motivation after lunch....it's all back together and appears to be working ok, though only done a few laps around the block as it was getting dark and I had a heap of gear to pack up and put away, so will take it for a longer spin next weekend to double check it's all good.

The fires around the Clarence Valley are growing in number every day.
The Valley is blanked by smoke.

Hi mate,
Yeah, the wind yesterday was a bitch.
It has eased today, which has help the RFS.
BUT more fires have appeared.

Christ, some 30 homes lost at Rappville,
It took them so quickley.
Watching  the news this evening, it's been reported that it was deliberately lit.
It has buckeled the main rail line.
Summerland H/way is still closed .
Throughout the north coast there are spot fires appearing by the hour.
So Sad.

Just to g8ve some perspective to how much country the Bees Nest fire atm has has burnt out.
There are many more fires on the North Coast, as a collective this is a huge part of our area thst has suffered from this prolonged drought.
We are not alone, around the country others are dealing with heart breaking times.

A fire that size in Sydney would certainly improve it
I drove down from Tenterfield to Casino last week, was heartbreaking to see so much country blackened and empty.

Hey Noel, How ya mate?
We've had some big fires this season in the Clarence Valley and surrounding country.
I have the the highest respect for our RFS guys & girls, not only on the North Coast of NSW, but right around the country.
They are a special class of human, thank you.
With  the drought crippling our farmers, this is a kick in the guts for many.

Travel safe mate

Half an hour ago, sweating my ass off on the bike trainer, riding up a "hill" in the USA...

Why you ask?  My wife and I are doing the Great Cycle Challenge, to raise money for cancer research.  Got to do 23 km/day until the end of the month to make my target after smashing out 42km tonight!

In case anyone is interested, my inside training setup is in this photo

And our fundraising initiative is here : https://greatcyclechallenge.com.au/Riders/AndrewMorris1/d

The fundraising goes towards CMRI who also have funds raised through Jeans for Genes Day, which more people have heard of.

My wife and I both set ourselves a fairly realistic target of 500km each, and through the amazing generosity of our friends have smashed our fundraising target to bits!  We also both desperately needed to start losing weight for our own health, and we're also achieving that goal, although the kg's are not disappearing as fast as the km's are!

Cancer has hit our immediate and extended family pretty hard over the past 7 1/2 years with 2 bouts of breast cancer, one lot of abdominal cancer, and one incurable bone cancer, where we're watching a mate just slowly die as a result.

Anyway, wasn't really the post I'd intended to make, but if anyone is curious about cancer research for kids, and the fundraising initiatives behind CMRI, please follow my link, and this one to CMRI to learn more about their great work.

https://www.cmri.org.au/

As they say, no kid should live with cancer.
