My Son is on right, Brad is on left
Their band is "Chasing The Jeffery". New album coming soon 1st track "Into the Sun" has just been released.
New album produced by Garth Porter & has track with Darryl Braithwait.
Maybe we're heading back to the glory days of Australian Pub Rock  8)  8)  8)

Nice, Wish them all the best..

When I was living in Mackay one of my housemates best mate was a musician and his name was Josh and the guy on the left looked very much like him. I am sure he also opened for the Angels or one of Doc's bands at one time.

Sad day, saw the Angels many a time in ol Sydney Town. Spent many hours behind the wheel listening to them.

We have to start thinking about what sort of a world we are going to leave for Keith Richards after we are all gone.

I saw Doc and The Angels at the Palais in Newcastle back in the day. He was definitely a great front man. And very tall. We sat behind him at concert in Sydney once (Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Warrant?...can't remember which one it was too long ago)

Grew up listening to The Angels too as hubby (boyfriend at the time) was in an Angels cover band.

It is a sad day indeed :(

The 'Keystone Angels' played at my year 9 end of year social in about 1977 or 78, can't remember the exact year.

I feel strangely like I've lost a member of my family. Sad day.

I have been to one 'Day on the Green' event and one 'Sounds by the River' at Mannum with the Angels headed by Dave Gleeson. Although not the headline act, the Angels songs penned by Doc were the ones that always got the crowd gee'd up.

Certainly was, he's getting a bit of a rogues gallery as he has some shots with Angry Anderson, One of the guys from the HooDoo Gurus (not Dave) & as i said above Daryl Braithwait + a few others whose names escape me at the moment
This weekend their off to Brisbane & Caxton St festival (?) and there was some talk of maybe doing something with Ella Hooper.

But ahh the life of a struggling musician  8)
Still cant afford to pay me rent  :-[

Brad is Joshs' Brother (Geiger boys) all good singers, Josh can do a mean Jimmy Barnes song if you ever get to see him
He may have been support for that gig as well

That's him, poor Joshy used to come around our place for a beer and we would hand him a guitar and he would spend the rest of the night singing. I still run into him every now and then when I am in Mackay.

he does a great cold chisel "Flame Trees"

End of an era.... rip doc.

What ever happened to good aussie rock bands doing the hard yards playing pubs to get a start.

Now days you go on a talent show. My mrs watches that 'voice' show. I just think what crap, all a bunch of kids doing to same thing.

Bring back pub rock!

I just watched RocKwiz Remembers Doc Neeson, a salute to songwriters Vanda and Young, featuring one of Doc's last live performances.

If SBS ever repeat it, it's really worth a watch.

Here's Doc performing our 'other' anthem on RocKwiz ;D  He still had it.

Also, if you have pay tv, MAX has a Doc Neeson special at 8.30pm Monday night, followed by The Angels hits.

Growing up here, I was too young to go to the pub to see The Angels and then they broke up etc. The Angels were pretty much the soundtrack of my youth. Finally got to see the full line up in 2008 during the Face to Face 30 year tour. As we were walking in I saw all these folks with grey hair and thought "Check out all these oldies. Oh, wait..I'm now an oldie." Bloody awesome show. My wife commented "I didn't realise they had so many good songs." Damn straight they did.

See ya' Doc. I guess the Devil's Gate finally opened all the way.

I taped it. It was apparently a road show in Melbourne & Perth I think. The rendition of "Evie" rivals the original. Wally "gotye" tabacca does an amazing job as does Isabella manfridi with the middle verse. Is available on YouTube
