Another catches the bug

Hi all my name's Alf and the wife and I picked up our first ct today. On a budget so we finished up with a hard floor Broadwater ct14e as a starter. Had fun today seasoning the tent and then measuring up to hit the shops tomorrow for all the good bits, fridge, etc. Seen a couple of mods on here that I'll probably do over the next few months. First up next week is to wire up the Prado for an Anderson plug. Anyway happy camping all and I'll catch you round.

Thanks everyone. Yes Muzza it is an 04e not a 14 (stupid stubby finger typo). Had a look at your link, some really good ideas there and jealous of the shed. Looks like they've changed a couple of things since you got yours, winch location is now centre of drawbar, looks like a bit better quality hitch. Anyway here's the first of my questions, anyone got info on venting of fridge boxes. According to one of the guys at a shop we had a quick look in yesterday we need to vent the box to get air circulation?

Hi AlfA12(Alf), Damien.
Welcome to the Forum.
Your Ventilation would be easy.
Get  a Commodore air filter from your local Auto parts people.
some angle to trap it against the inside of the box door.
Form the angle into a square shape that sits on the rubber sealing section of the air filter.
The lip must be on  the outside so you can anchor the filter to the door.
Either get a hole saw and cut a pattern of holes in the door.
Or cut a hole in the door smaller than the size of the air filter.
You can hide it  from the outside with mesh or a louvre vent plate that will cover the opening.
Just depends how you want it to look.
Fit the air filter to the inside of the door and hold it in place with the  Angle frame built earlier.
You will now need a 100 to 120mm 12V Computer fan.
This fits on the inside of the Box in the back wall from the door.
Or in the wall closest to the tub of the trailer as far from the door of the box as possible.
Which ever wall you pick, the  fan has to go high up on the inside of the wall.
Cover the outside with a louvre plate.(Louvres angled down.)
There will be power for the fridge in the box.  This is where you get power for the Fan.
If you have a battery on the trailer running the fridge, you need to be able to turn the Fan off.
You won't get much power drain from the fan.
But if the trailer is parked up for a long time, it can run the battery dead flat.
The fan needs to be running, if the fridge is running and inside the box.
It also needs to be set so the fan blows to the outside of the box.
You also have to remember if you take the trailer swimming.
The air inlet and outlet both need to be above the water level.

Thanks Cruiser, sounds like a plan ( and more importantly one I can do myself). Got the fridge and a few other bits and bobs so now I can start to get into it. If I can curb the wife's impatience to get out and about in the CT.

Best part is those filters should be available just about any where.
You can pull it out and blow it clean too.
