That my body doesn't recover from huge punishing efforts at the velodrome for the QLD State Masters Titles but in saying that. I did get a silver and bronze medal. The silver for the Team Sprint and bronze in the Individual M7 Sprints + a PB for the flying 200mtr qualifying for the Individual Sprints since I made the return to racing after 34yrs away.  ;D

I have come to realize there is Direct Link between how busy I can be and how bored my wife is.

I kinda knew this, but I was reminded again today that some people should need a license to tow a Van.
The Minister for War and Finance spends a fortnight at Brooms Head each year.
It's her chill time,
I had a job to attend to, so I drop in and have lunch with her, while sitting under the awning chatting, watching the world go by,
A BT50 dual cab with a 24ft van pulls up, male drive in his early forties, wife, couple of kids. Good stuff they are living the dream.
He goes to reverse the van into the site, nup.
Has to drive nose in to the site opposite(lucky they are away), which gives him a world of pain. 25 minutes it took to get it in there.
Then, just behind us a 200 series pulls up with a 24ft'er, but he wants have his wife reverse the van, I hear him yell at her,
'Don't look in your mirror's, look at me'
He stands directly behind the van, she can't see jaskShit, he keeps yelling for her to keep coming back, she reverses into the power box.
HTF do these idiots hold a job that affords them the coin to own Shit they can't use?

It's 25K's from Maclean to Brooms Head, it a road that even towing the Harbour bridge, you can still do 100kpm.
Yet most sit on 70kph.
It's great they are on holidays, awesome, but I travelled that road for years.
I bet there are similar stretches of road around the country where local traffic get held up/p553d off.

So in nsw now all box trailers need to be inspected for rego, why not test the idiots towing them?

I was unaware of this requirement, so i have learnt something today. I assume it is for the under 750kg trailers as I'm aware that the larger ( heavier) ones still get checked as our car/plant trailer gets an annual rego pink slip.
I still have a couple of homemade trailers in NSW which 'shared' a number plate, I left them in my brothers care. I will have to tell him to take the best one for the rego check when the time comes.

My box trailer, was built in 1966 and has about the shortest drawbar known to mankind in the modern world.

I can back it dead easy.

I lent it to a mate once...... hah, when he brought it back, he reckoned it was pure evil and possessed by the devil and in the end, he dropped the jockey wheel and pushed it up to the dump face.

Told me I could take the dirty fornicating vagina of a thing and stick it in my anal cavity..... or words to that effect.

G'day rags,
The old retired copper next had to get 3 year old poly trailer(7x5) unbraked checked late last year.
The Tyrepower store he took it to was suprised, they had heard it was coming in, but hadn't one yet.
$38.00
For someone to walk around it and look for rust in the chassis and check tyre wear and check bearing play.
Hmmm

That right there is the exact reason for my absolute hatred of caravaners.

You’re frustrated about 25km, imagine how all of those thousands of people up north feel when they get stuck behind those selfish pricks for 100s of km.

I’m sure in their minds they’ve got all the perfect reasons for doing 30km/h below the speed limit. But when you’ve got to drive 250km to get to a airport to catch a flight you really couldn’t care less about how much fuel those selfish old bastards in front of you are saving.
And when there is no overtaking lanes on a highway for 100s of km it is a total dog act to drive in a convoy of selfish old pricks doing 30km under the speed limit with no gaps between each other to let the normal people get passed all of you selfish old bastards and get on with their normal lives.

Phew.... I feel better much now.... ;)

Oh and I learnt it’s all about the number plate.

Did 4000km of highway driving in QLD over the summer break, saw heaps of vans on the road, but didn’t really get stuck behind any.

Do the same trip in winter time and I’m ready to murder someone after the first 500km.

In summer the vast majority of number plates have maroon lettering, in winter they’re blue with a funny little triangle in the middle.
So I’ve learnt it must the the colour of the plates that’s the problem, not the tow vehicle or van. ;)
