I learnt that its a Dog eat Dog world out there (not that I didn't know but just another wake up call)
I also learnt that the people you love and trust can be your worst enemy at the blink of an eye.
And just to finish the conversation ;), i also had another reminder that money is essence of evil and unfortunately it makes the world go around.

Be careful who you trust Swaggers, and never Sh!t in your backyard. I'm hoping Karma will bite some people on the A$$ and it usually does. What goes around comes around............

I went in for my annual check up today.

Everything was going fine, until he stuck his index finger up my bum.  ???

I learned that I need to find myself a new dentist.

I learnt that the hangers that I welded on, and then cut off yesterday took heaps of work to cut off and also broke 2 cold chisels to get them off.

where I couldn't get to with the cut off disk on the angle grinder.

I thought that would be any industry where a group of men had to work in close quarters to each other.

Need to throw a female in there to keep them in order, either a young one they will all try to be on their best behaviour for or a more "mature" one to treat them like the kids they are behaving like. :police:

Nah manufacturing (with a bit of transport as well)  :D

It seems these days when you pay peanuts you no longer get monkeys you get kids with allergies. Not to the peanuts you are paying but to work ethic, uncommon sense and anything reasonable.

And transport, I just don't get 1% of our drivers... 99% are fine and do a great job, but this 1 particular driver has no sense of reason. He told me that the brand new truck (which is around 450 ponies and auto) he got was useless piece of $hit because it won't pull 70t of gravel out of a quarry. We don't cart gravel, we cart around 10t of manufactured wood products so not sure how his argument works... Sad thing is, that's probably the most intelligent thing he has come up with.

But as bad as some of our guys are I'm sure there is a lot worse out there.

Ours would be primary school uniforms!  I reckon the only reason there aren't more rolling on the ground tanties is no one will sweep the floor because "it's not in my job description" so it's too dirty to roll on! I wonder if their parents saw the way they act at times if they would have to give them a "time out" :-\

Today I learnt that you should not trust people to do a good job in their own field of expertise, even if you're paying them a reassuringly large sum of money.

Related, I learnt that when things go south a LOT of finger pointing happens, and "well, you should have checked that I'd done it right instead of taking my word for it" seems to be a good excuse for absolving yourself of any personal responsibility (whilst keeping said cash pile). I did not know that.

Cheers,
Matt

I know Noel, I know.

It's in the process of coming good. But that's going to cost us more money. The problem is that these guys were contracted by a different (non-tech) dept, but we're the ones cleaning up the mess. Frustrating, especially when there were so many red flags along the way. But, you can only do what you can do.

Ahhh well - all good fun.

Cheers,
Matto :)
