Oh dear, that means my curtains are all going to fade and my petunias will wither up and die due to the extra hour of sunlight we magically get when we put our clocks forward >:D

But yes, bring on summer........please!!

As you know we don't have it over here in WA. It has never made much difference to me as I have been afternoon shift worker for 20 years.  Now i am out of the workforce I will never get a chance to see if I like it!

They should wait for all the old people to die before they introduce daylight saving in WA and QLD.

Unfortunately we don't have it here in Queensland

More the pity. >:(

I always find a direct relationship between folk who want daylight savings in QLD and a lack of knowledge of what the purpose of the Tropic of Capricorn is.
It never fails to greatly amuse me when I ask them this question, what the line around the globe is. I then label them members of the "flat earth society " as they still have no idea what I am speaking of.
I loved it when QLD had the trial all them years ago, and a dozen communities refused to participate, Cooktown was the standout, as I spent some time there through it. Great for a laugh it was.

Something we really don't need in FNQ but I can see the benefits in southern QLD. I too was in SEQ during the trial over 20 years ago. I thought it was good for the southern region.
Anyway, daylight saving would make our curtains fade. ;D

Hi,
we are now back in Vic, the cool is just SOOOOOO nice. But we did enjoy our pre summer sample in NSW at times, Qld was just way too hot.

cheers

Mace

Don't worry austastar, it's still cool down here, although expected temp 2moz in your home town is 21! Are you heading back in time for the Bangor weekend later in the month?

Daylight Saving goes on to long by about 1 month . Though the extra sunlight goes well with the solar panels , more $$ .
l wake up earlier , work harder , drink more , so there is an up side after all .
As the weather warms up you don't really see more women just more of them ,    ;D ;D
Bathurst is the start of summer .                                :cup:

make more sense to have it in winter, when an hours daylight after work would be handy.

hope i am not pissed at the time we have to turn the clock back an hour because i am sure when it hits 2.00am i will wind it back to 1.00am and when it hits 2.00am again i will again wind the clock back to 1.00am and so on, which could end up a very long day.

Well I know where the Tropic of Capricorn is but I don't see the joke.

Let me in on this 'great laugh'

I think that if you put your clock back this weekend you will be two hours behind everyone else. Perhaps you better put it forward like the rest of us! 8)

So long as you have tried your best, you should have no regrets.

Meh. Daylight savings was the most stupid idea Benjamin Franklin came up with.  I love being in Queensland.  We don't need to stuff with clocks here to make life better.

Nah, just get rid of the incessant heat, cyclones, floods, crocs, stingers, etc, etc, etc,!   ;D  Then QLD would be wonderful.

Too hot in Victoria for me. They can have that horrible dry heat that does not end, that just keeps going, until after 9 at night.
Give me a hot day, and a 6:30 sun set, done, finished, that is enough, bring on a nice cool breeze or even a short rain storm. Beautiful.

Funny thing about daylight savings is the reason for the USA to introduce it in WW1 to start with is no longer required, we would save money, if the southern states did not have it.
