Hey I need a new auxiliary in the cruiser. So the 110 should fit in the 200 but I have an isolator on the sidewall. I'll measure it up tonight. Where are they in Sydney?

Hi Jet so do they or you offer any solutions for the cranking battery as well?

some people will crank off these batts but for me I always like a nice good old high cca cranking batt like the supercharge MF95 range I have used these for years as crank batts.

The heat is the big issue with an AGM under the bonnet, ultimate have backed their product  for this however do not recommend fitment to GU patrols or other vehicles where the aux battery location will expose the battery to higher temps than the crank batt is subjected to.

In summary their are different mounting positions for different cars and even multiple mount options for the same car, so it is the installers / owners responsibility to make sure the temp in the location of the Aux is not above the temp at the main batt location .,.

The reason for this is that all of the temp data was taken from vehicles main battery location.

This is not uncommon and is why certain cars chew through batts more than others.

they are a very hardy batts but high temps will kill them just like any batt IMHO. So its important to understand this.

Thanks mate yes I understood they are not a start battery. Just wondered if you offered any solutions as well.  Re the postion on the 200 I don't know really how hot it gets. The aux is in the mirror reverse to the start and it's a V8 so I guess engine bay temp will be similar both sides?  I know on lcool a few have run odessey agms under there okay?

That should be fine mate , i think its more cars where the aux is back near fire wall on exhuast or turbo side . the 200 should be fine mate.

Hey theo, I am installing a dual batt tray in my mates petrol 120 series v6 prado.

The tray fits a 12" battery (N70Z size) which is approx 305 x 175mm. Would I squeeze one of the 110's in there? i had a look at your link but I also see in the comments you said the 110 is the same size case as a 100 so would it fit? if not what is the biggest I would fit?

thanks mate

Hi Theo

These look good, two quick questions ...

- what kind of maximum input charge can they handle? The label on battery (on the brochure) suggests input charge of 14.1 and 14.4v, will charging outside this rate damage or void the warranty? My Prado 150 2.8 produces less (~13.6v), and my solar panels push out more (~17v) than this range.

- warranty replacements - can these be made at place of pick-up (eg. Sydney) or do they need to go back through Brisbane?

Thanks!

Undercharging a batt can have a detrimental effect on batteries, that said under voltage is better than over voltage . if your car can charge the start batt these will also work fine. You will ultimatey be responsible for making sure your batts are well maintained. even your crank batt will want a top up with smart charger every now and then.

Your solar should not be pushing 17v into any battery so i would say that needs to be looked at or you are quoting open circuit voltage.

Batts are so simple but so complex that most manuf only offer a 12mth warranty ..these are the same. after 12mths they will not entertain the claim, I have not yet had any issues with these batts mate.

if you collected from syd and had an issue you would return the batt to sydney within the 12mth period no need to be shipping batts around ;D ;D (obv contact me first to organise)

I will never say never but these are the only AGM I will sell and there is a good reason for that.

I'm sure jetcrew will be along shortly, or you could send him a PM.
I've bought some batteries from him, and the whole thing was very smooth.

Thanks for the response ... 17v was what my multimeter measured of the 'to battery' connection of the crappy built-in regulator on my panels (without any load) which I want to replace anyway.

Could u please PM me a price(s) for a regulator(s) you'd recommend, I have a 150w dual panel ... many thanks :)
