To me it's just common courtesy, keep within your site and obey park rules...

Yep if everybody followed this rule no issue.
Here for a good time, not a long time!

Whilst some of the suggestions here might seem reasonable, and comical at the time, the reality is that taking action is more likely to aggravate the situation than anything. If the management won't help and the encroaching neighbour is oblivious to your predicament there is little you can do without risking further problems. Not really having a holiday. People like this abound in life, no different to poor drivers etc. Pack up & leave is 1 option, but then other accommodation at short notice can be difficult to find.

i can't believe you'd start a thread about me like this, after being away for a couple of weeks together I thought you'd let it slide....plenty of room on my site if you need some mate. If I'd known I'd upset you this much, I would have made more noise when throwing the leg over last night, just so you got more upset...lol

PMSL.  Just make sure you or others don't walk through his site Mal. Need more then anger management  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I dont reckon you have anger management issues.

Its plain and simple. The guy next to you is an inconsiderate w@nker.
Nothing more nothing less.

It has nothing to do with you. HE is a w@anker.

I find myself frustrated by these ignorant fools who think rules only apply to others.
Park half on his site and when he grumbles say "oh sorry mate, thought we were sharing...."

Just make his life difficult, but remember you make to need to back up your actions if things get ugly.  :police:

And AGAIN. You're not the one with a problem..... He clearly is.

(On a side issue) I had some grief with a w@nker who decided to park his boat right in front of my site which had a beautiful view to the lake. He left just enough roof down the side for me to squeeze my car in.
When I approached his mob nobody seemed to know who's boat it was.
No problems, I just hitched it up and as I started to drive away, the bloke who claimed to not know who owned it, suddenly remembered it was his.
Probably a good thing as I was going to park it in KFC's drive thru.

This thread just sort of reminds me why we absolutely abhor Caravan Parks and will avoid them at ALL costs.

Pay $60+ for this sort of situation, tell me your joshing mate !

Hit the road and enjoy the holiday again. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hahahaha your nicer then me, I would of reversed it down the boat ramp and sent it on its way, not before drilling a few holes in the hull...

But in all serious, not sure who I feel for more mr mac, the guy with the ropes or rumpig for having to hear about it for 2 days  ;D ;D  ;D ;D ROFPMSL

He is an inconsiderate A Hole, but I would be going off at management not him, they have a responsibility to make sure that everyone abides by the rules and regulations, thats why they are managers. It seems that they are just too lazy to do their job.
You have asked management to do something about it and they have refused. I would be measuring the the site, work out the square meterage and then demand a refund for the amount you are without, plus a little extra for the inconvenience.

He might have been a dick to you, but don't let that get to you, enjoy your holiday. If you get into it with him, it will only make your stay miserable.

Wow some of you guys are harsh....acts of violence, cutting ropes, destroying property etc etc Hope I dont camp near you lot and do something wrong! >:D

I agree his ropes probably should have been moved out of your area, if it was me i would have happily moved them for you. Ive never understood the tarp over the canvas thing, does his canvas leak or is he protecting it from bird/tree droppings perhaps? Maybe it is his awning.

It appears as though he could have easily pulled it down the side of his camper and moved his ropes and avoided this thread though  ;D

For those of us without a tropical roof the tarp does the same job, it reflects the sun off the top of the tent making it bearable to be inside during the day.

To me the OP's ropes are too close to the tent anyway, I would stretch them out further to about a 60 deg angle as a minimum.
Do not PM me for technical advice - start a thread.

In the end we decided to leave today. The drive we wanted to do today was closed due to flood damaged roads, and I really didn't want to spend any more of my hard earned there either.

Home a day or two earlier than expected, but at least extra cleaning time now.

2m into your site is too much, though if I were you and they weren't necessarily infringing on space I needed I would probably just accept it.

We set up at Xmas a few years ago and the park had made a huge mistake (with pretty much everything they did). A bloke set his tent right across the front of our camper, had a rope pegged down into the drawbar. It bugged me, but in the end I was on holidays and so let it slide.

However, if I did need that space his ropes would have to go. I'd offer to help him peg closer to his walls, but if I couldn't set my camper up on the site is paid for, terribly sorry you'll have to revise how you set up mate.

People can be so strange you know .

Now I know why I invite Speewa along, we always seem to get the best spots, even if there are 12 campers needing to fit in >:D

Well given he wants to be a prat you could have reversed your trailer over the ropes ;) After all you need the room you paid for.

Seriously though how hard is it to keep the ropes in your own site or at least being considerate of others.

So far I haven't encountered anyone like this, so I consider myself fortunate.

Why stay at parks that pack u in like sardines?
Australia- the big open spaces. The big camping trailers. The holiday parks that have less room than an Indonesian smuggler boat.
The guy next door should try to minimise his impact on u and u on him.
Would u have felt better if he offered to pay % of your site fee? He might have been keen for an amicable solution too.

I would have simply tied my guy ropes to theirs and wave up a hand thanking them for for not having to knock pegs in.

I would have asked him nicely after saying g'day, then if he refused to move them I would have just pulled them out.  Simple, if he then wants to complain to the park management or turn it on let him go for it and let them sort it out.  I suppose you didn't know the park management were lame and wouldn't help.

No future in damaging his property or starting a blue, no problem finishing the blue if he starts one either...

Nothing to see here - move on.
